HardcoreHorn Posted yesterday at 07:11 PM Posted yesterday at 07:11 PM First ever silent decommitment post? 6 1 3 1 Quote
aaronstein5 Posted yesterday at 07:26 PM Posted yesterday at 07:26 PM I really don’t think Texas pushed very hard and didn’t publicly take his commitment fora reason. Especially with him saying where he will be most valued. 1 Quote
Moderators CJ Vogel Posted yesterday at 07:33 PM Moderators Posted yesterday at 07:33 PM Was a bit of an interesting deal. Appeared to me that it was insurance for the 2026 class as Texas continued to pursue Prothro, Bowman, Kent, etc. Texas is in no rush to just take a tight end in 2026 cycle. After Townsend and Winston in 2025, the room is healthy for the future. 16 1 Quote
taxsaver Posted yesterday at 07:37 PM Posted yesterday at 07:37 PM This is Sark recruiting. He insists on just the best of the best. Of course, he could be proven wrong, but he does as he sees fit for the program. 2 Quote
Bunk Moreland Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago It sounds like he wasn’t “approved” to commit yet, which means that Sark is playing wait and see. Clearly the coaches are in no rush here and if they decide to give him another look, they can always push hard in a few months. Quote
Sundancekid Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I love how Sark refuses to “settle” for anything less than the very best. Program maximizer… it’s working. 2 Quote
syracusehorn Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Sad for the kid. Not getting a formal offer when you want one is hard. Hopefully Sark didn’t string him along, but it sounds like he was honest and told the player that Texas isn’t taking him. I hope he finds a good spot and thrives. 7 Quote
Atticus Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago She's just not that into you. Weird post to make publicly, but okay. Onward. Quote
Ace Recruiter Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Lucky for Sark, Mama is past her prime in the ring. Good luck to the young man. Quote

Bizarre post: Think this is code for… other teams weren’t pursuing him hard either and this is his way of trying to generate some buzz on others’ radar as a Texas ‘commit’ who’s decided to ‘soft decommit’…..Is that a thing if Sark never accepted your commitment? lol. 😳😂 Edited 22 hours ago by Bevo92 2 Quote
NothinButDaHorns34 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago The purpose of doing this by him was for what? Seems pointless to me. Quote
GQ03 Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Sounds like they accepted his commitment but told him to hold off on announcing. Remember, he had a date set to announce and then pushed it back (probably told by staff to hold off announcing). After seeing others jump in the boat and still not being given the green light to announce he probably felt he was being put on the backburner while in recruiting circles people are viewing him as a Texas commit. Better for him to get out in front of it than to be trapdoored closer to NSD with no seat to sit in once the music stops playing. I wish good luck to the young man. 4 Quote
GQ03 Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Without inside info, this seems to have played out very similarly to what happened with Yaya Gaad last cycle. Quote

Possibly he's just signaling to other programs that his recruitment is wide open, that he's not waiting around for Texas any longer. Sounds like he jumped the gun with us, confusing an "offer" with a "committable offer", and perhaps he quit taking calls from other schools. (Yeah I know, a lot of speculation on my part in those two sentences ...) Looks like a Big 12 guy to me, or maybe one of the California ACC schools ... I wish him well. 1 Quote
