I would imagine they'll end up picking someone up. They can't go into the season with that backup QB situation, considering who their starter is.

This is an option I was wondering about. Move him to practice squad and bring a vet in. Let Wilson walk next season and bump QE up for less $.

Jeff thank you for sharing that projection of Texas’s QE making the roster. He didn’t play his best against Chicago. hopefully he will do a better job the second preseason game.

Back to our present Longhorns. I can hardly wait for August 30th. I know it’s going to be young Arch’s first game as QB1 but his patience & talent has earned him that spot. we all face adversity & Arch probably will at times but i have no doubt it won’t bother him & the sky is the limit for a young man with his talent & football 🏈 skills. were lucky to have HC Sark & his entire staff & have QB1 Arch Manning & his Texas Longhorn players. also i’m excited about AP picking Texas#1 for the very first time. “ HOOKEM “

QE's looked just like he has for the last 3 years at Texas... I will eat crow if he goes off and looks legit.

People keep holding on to hope. If he wasn’t able to excel in College he is not going to make it in the NFL. He doesn’t have good pocket presence, he panics, throws with no zip, limited athleticism.

Imo the goal is to win football games. Quinn is still an enigma. Bobby said it best he is elite underneath. Like a great pool player he can feather the ball in short quarters. Its a talent that is difficult to teach that is natural to him. Brady esque in his ability to get the ball out quickly and lead his guys. He is still a young kid, Carson Beck is older, Quinn helped Texas to two final fours.

I am happy to eat crow when he's 25 if he flames out but we have had Arch in the wings to Quinn had an expiration date. That's very tough. Obviously the loss to Ohio State was brutal but the kid had balls to hot route and hit that 4th and 13. Healthy Brooks, baxter, bond is all hypothetical and although both Quinn and Sam came up short they both bled Orange and put Texas a step forward rather than a step back.

If you watch enough of these preseason games and see all these QBs, they can all do what Quinn does underneath....he doesn't have a rare or special trait that many other QBs don't have.

Quinn is currently on a 13 play 92 yard drive at the 2 minute warning. On this drive he was behind the chains multiple times and found away to keep the chains moving. He still has a long way to go, but he definitely looks like he belongs. Looks like he's going to finish 11-17 116 with 2 yes. Guess the reports of him not making the same mistakes we've heard out of Dolphins camp are true.

Basic response, except he was QB 1 for a top 5 team. The whole no talent thing is a lazy take

His plays weren't all underneath. He wasn't laughing down the feild 40 yards or anything, he operated in the intermediate both inside and outside the numbers. The running game was working so he was able to work off play action. It was a very Brock Purdy like showing for him. But yeah both of his TD throws came in the redzone.
