Won every important stat line except score

1) tush push needs to stop

2) Livingstone needs to catch that TD. Tate double caught a ball on a bad throw

3) Sark needs to open up the playbook

4) 2 penalties on their TD drive cost us there

5) arch, stop trying to throw the ball throw a wall and hit your receiver in the hands when they’re 5-10yards away

OSU executed better in key situations and made less penalties/mistakes. Being the home team played a role as well.

We will get much better. We will have the motivation to get better. This loss could be a blessing. We will see.

If Arch hits Wingo on that drag route just once then that changes the game.

Even though Arch had a tough day, he did not give up.  He kept punching and made some great throws toward the end.

Bad throws, penalties and uninspired red zone play were killer.

The defense is great.  The offensive line has room to improve but overall played well.  Graceson Littleton was awesome.  Ced Baxter looked good.  Endries played well.

I’d tap the brakes on the defense. OSU barely attempted to play offense yesterday and were content to not beat themselves while our offense generally fornicated with the football.

We have the pieces to be special on defense, but I’ll wait to anoint them as great until I see them contend with an offense actually interested in being offensive with similar talent.

Need more sacks, forced fumbles, and interceptions I agree with that.  Still worried about Gilbeau and Muhammad.  We won’t know how much they’ve really improved until early October.

A play action bootleg would’ve been sweet

Arch is a better runner when in space. Give him and option receiver like the Silas Bolden play last year. He also did it with CJ yesterday for an extra 3 yds

I was a little frustrated that on a critical third down Jeremiah Smith shoved Muhammad to get space and nothing was called.

That no call and the penalty on Collin Simmons (hands to the face) that gave Ohio State a first down instead of a turnover on downs made a huge difference.  Without them Ohio State may not have scored at all.

The team is still young and that showed with some inconsistency.

Arch, Collin Simmons, Anthony Hill, Ryan Wingo and Brandon Baker all had forgettable games.  Lets hope they can keep their chins up and continue to improve.

I watched the game thinking Sark was calling too vanilla of a gameplan. Watching the film guy’s review I’m realizing his schemes are just getting way too predictable and easily shut down by elite defensive coordinators. He has hit his wall for the second year years in a row. Good enough as a coordinator to beat most teams but not good enough as a coordinator to win the biggest matchups.

While I agree some was vanilla and basic, its tough for a play caller to find a great rhythm if his QB is out of sync too. Some big opportunities missed by Arch on solid play calls from Sark where the entire first half they had no rhythm. Then some absolute dud calls in the red. Frustrating from both but hoping this is their worst game of the year. Flush it.

“The game was ours for the taking”

The game could have also just as easily been 21-0 Ohio State.

Nah. Not if you can't run the ball against a light box. Half your points were gifted by penalty.

At no point after Ohio State went up 7-0 did we feel threatened by Texas.

Sorry that’s just stupid. Texas was inside the 10 twice and had plays to score.

Ohio State crossed the 50 twice. You had 203 yards.

If our guys would have simply kept their hands from a facemask you don’t score one of your TD’s and we get a safety plus the ball.

Hope we see you in the playoff.

Sorry, I don’t know how Texas got those yards because their offense wasn’t a threat. I don’t think one of their WRs beat an Ohio State DB the entire game

Parker Livingstone for a TD?

That was a very good catch. That might have been the only time. Ohio State was up two scores at that point and were just trying to keep everything in front them. Hence all of the empty yards that Texas fans think shows they were actually better.

The real issue is that why is Julian Sayin already better than Arch Manning? That on top of Sark turning Quinn Ewers from 5* #1 overall into a 7th round pick would have me really questioning your program.

Needs a real OC that can call plays.  I do want to see what adjustments are made from this game to the games in Gainesville and Dallas to validate my thoughts.  Flood and Milwee are OC and Co-OC to justify their pay, but they don’t call plays.

It just doesn’t make sense because I truly believe Sark is an elite play caller, and this game doesn’t diminish that to me.

I just wonder if behind the scenes Arch has struggled and Sark knows he isn’t capable of running the full offense, at least not yet.
