Florida is hoping to get to Texas without any injury issues from a tough stretch. If they can avoid injuries, it will be a dog fight. We have two cream puffs and an off week before we play Florida. They play LSU and Miami. Who do you think will have more injuries? And we are a deeper team. Quote

Seems like he is their offense at the moment. Up 14-0 on Michigan at half time right now. Any other games of interest right now? Quote

Texas put up 49 on Florida a year ago when the Gators started CB4 and CB5. It will be a much tougher game in The Swamp. Really you think after tonight? That game was in the swamp. I don't know if I'm too concerned about that game in a few weeks. I think less now than I was before the season started. We'll see though, that's why you gotta play the games. 😁🤘🤘 Quote

Gotta think about that when letting a coach go now, even when it’s clear they’re not the right guy for the job. Not fully sold on Kelly and Cristobal to both beat Napier though. Quote

They can't play Texas that way, their best bet is try to confuse Arch, but by that time Arch would have seen multiple coverages and defenses. Mateer is a riverboat gambler with his decisions and with no run game outside of running the qb 20 times a game no way he makes it a whole season. 1 Quote

One thing I'll say about Mateer is he is very shifty. But him running that much is not a great idea. You just spy that with guys like Hill or Smith and hope he throws one of those ducks up that he got lucky with several times last night. Michigan should've picked him off like 2-3 more times than they did lol. Had to mute the audio with how much Herbstreit and Fowler were drooling over him. Quote
Moderators Gerry Hamilton Posted yesterday at 11:30 AM Moderators Posted yesterday at 11:30 AM Texas can absolutely lose at Florida. There's no reason to be concerned. Too many people here assume that any team we play will be at their best while Texas will be at their worse. Texas can't be as immature and undisciplined as they were yesterday and beat Florida, but let's be honest here, it won't take a Herculean effort either. Florida has just as many issues if not more than Texas with Billy Napier being the most pressing. Quote

You’re looking for some kind of positive affirmation or credit after a bad loss? No one said they were world beaters. The entire discussion is who do we need to make sure we stay dialed in on or risk a loss. Florida has the talent in the right spots to be one of those teams. If anything, losing this game will ratchet up their focus and desperation. They don’t have to put it together for 10 great games to beat us once. So no, nothing’s changed. If the bottom falls out and players start quitting, that’s a game changer. They seem to love their coach so we’ll see but it hasn’t happened yet. Transitive logic just isn’t applicable in football. We ran less effectively than CMU did against SJSU. So… Quote

Sure they could beat us, but how good is their defense when you're lining 8-9 people in the box because you know Michigan refuses to try or unable to stretch the field vertically? Mateer is a bigger Pavia with a much better arm. However, he is a gambler and takes too many hits. One thing about qbs that takes a lot of hits is they become more and more inaccurate as the game goes. I see the OU game going three ways. Texas wins by two scores, Texas wins close, or OU wins close. Not sure where I am just yet, but I will definitely feel more or less confident after Florida. 1 Quote

Lagway just isn't seeing it and I know our defense will make him second guess what he's seeing. Offensively Sark better not run Arch like USF did, but we will be able to lean on them a little bit. The front line guys on the D-line are good, but after them there's a steep drop, be it due to youth or inexperience. We need Baxter to get about 15 tough carries to open things up for Wisner. Quote
