Will Napier be next if/when Texas and Arch drop the Gators to 1-4?

Hook em! 🧡🤘🏼🐂

If they roll over and play dead he’s gone. If they play hard he’ll stay for the time being.

If this is true. It is a sad day for OSU.  Gundy did more for OSU football than any other coach-by a large margin.  Yes, Jimmy J. had a day, but he got out ASAP.

Gundy's strength and weakness are his stubbornness.  He refused to accept that OSU couldn't be a major player in the B12.  His strength and steadfastness made them a significant force in the B12.

Unfortunately, he has issues with change.  Boone Pickens forced him to stop being the offensive coordinator and made him focus on head coach duties.  NIL is the girl that he refuses to dance with......even though everyone else at the party is waiting in line for her.

I'll bet Gary Patterson and he are best buds!

Okie State owes Gundy much more than this.  They should have let him finish the season and retire.

Without Gundy who knows where they would have been?  I doubt they would have had half the success.

I would love to see Gundy as an advisor in Austin.

Exactly. This guy put them on the map and had solid teams for years….. hate to see a guy who built a program like he did honor like this. Regardless he won a natty or not, he made them competitive and respectable until NIL changed the game.

It's kinda like Clemson with Swinney. Gerry keeps mentioning that they were not very good since the 80's before he came around and likfted them back up. You gotta be careful what you wish for and Oklahoma State will not have the same success as they have enjoyed under Gundy.

Don't know that Gundy would care much for Austin or Texas but you couldn't go wrong having a voice like that around to help out.

Gundy got what he deserved. He's brought nothing but problems to OSU since Boss Pickens died.

... and his football team is no longer competitive, even to the most casual eyes.

Gundy is a multi millionaire with no need to do assistant things in another state unless he just really can’t stand not doing football things. He can take a few years off and try again if he really wants to be a HC into his 60’s.

As for his firing…deserves has got nothing to do with it. OSU is acting like a big program even if they are not. They’re trying to get a jump on potential hires while keeping their base and donors engaged. Those $$$ mean much more than class these days I’m afraid. Especially at a cash strapped program.

When you look at the B12, there aren’t a lot of programs with more resources than okie lite. At worst they’re second quartile. Yet they’re close to the bottom in terms of on field performance. So being “cash strapped” relative to their peers is totally of their own making.
