In any game where we look like we’re getting “UTEP Arch” as Gerry so effectively put it, we need to put Caldwell in to at least throw off the opposing defense. He may not be as talented as Arch (so people say who are closer than I am), but every team is going to make Arch beat us now and take the run away. Every game will be like last night if signs of UTEP Arch appear.again. I sure hope we never see signs of UTEP Arch again. I really want him to grow and succeed. But I also want to get the personnel on the field to win the game.

Scheme, play calling, OL, QB, receivers, TE and RBs, which is in the top half of the SEC? When you got nothing good that equals the worst offense in the SEC. I will say this though, if Arch just hit open receivers the mood here would be somewhat better. I watched College Park and the Woodlands Friday night and both of those QBs hit open receivers. Sark’s downfall if he has one will be loyalty. To a QB since he was once one.

Man I don’t understand Sark not taking some portal offensive linemen. 
 

He was going into the season with Goosby had played a little bit. 
Hutson had played some

Baker played none

LG whoever was there had played none

Campbell played alot as a starter

 

And you know you’re going to have injuries and whoever comes off the bench has played none. 
 

Man that’s just not enough experience for an SEC schedule with a brand new QB that hasn’t played much and receivers that haven’t played much. 
 

We really shouldn’t be surprised.

I am going to give Sark some credit as an OC but a criticism as a HC. It’s hard for anyone to call plays when you only have 3 OL.

I’m in the other boat. As an OC, he is supposed to accumulate the correct personnel to put out a good offense. He has failed in that respect for 2 years straight.

And Hutson wasn’t really that good last year and anyone could see that Stroh can’t even get into a 3pt stance. How could you not see that you needed a transfer Guard. They have over rotated on Big Humans. They need big athletes around 300lbs

I agree that he failed majorly from a personnel standpoint this year. 

We had 2 RBs coming off of major injuries and said “we’re good, we got Wisner.” Our receivers are average at best. And of course we know how the OL is doing. The portal is king now. And instead of loading up, we arrogantly decided we like all of our current guys on that side of the ball I guess because we didn’t want to lose any to the portal? Awful offseason prep from Sark.

What he’s saying is not wrong, hashtag was just overly blunt and over aggressive lmao Hutson has been here for years and has never really been good. Nobody will say he’s an NFL lineman. Same can be said for stroh. DJ Campbell is also underwhelming for a former 5 star recruit .

The best QB on the field last night goes by the name Cutter. Kind of sums up the season and Arch's progression so far. Watched a lot of qb play yesterday. All of these guys are getting better Sayin, Simpson , Stockton, Diego, and on and on. 

I don't know what's fair on how to judge Arch considering how bad we are in so many offensive areas. But it is obvious he has a long way to go.

Can he get there next year with other changes that are needed to help the qb position.Maybe he really is just average at best. Better figure that out first before putting all those eggs in 1 basket for the future.

What i wonder about and have mentioned before………it seems like this Texas team doesn’t show up fired up and ready to play. I called it sleepwalking last night. You sleepwalk in the SEC for long and you are beat. Usually you have a few coaches that are firey guys that get them going or the strength coach/staff.  Texas too often seems flat to me. The one time we saw them come out fired up with after a dismal performance against Florida and came out with an attitude against Oklahoma and we saw how that went. I don’t know if it is players are getting paid now and it’s more like the NFL or what, but we don’t seem to come ready to play enough.

Our (lack of) offense last season cost us a national championship. Well that and Bert Auburn. This year it will probably be the reason we go 7-5.

What exactly would we be losing again by hiring a real OC? Camera shots of Sark staring down at his play sheet in critical situations instead of being a head coach?

Sark not only needs an OC, he also needs a real GM. I'm not saying Sark should be fired but we 100% made a mistake giving him a fully guaranteed Jimbo contract.

I don't know what Brandon Harris even does. I'm sure he is good at a certain role.

But we need someone independent of the coaching staff making the personnel decisions like almost every NFL team does. I don't think Brandon Harris is qualified for that role.
