ArizonaLonghorn Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago And then there's this soiree "tailgate" the night before the game, held at the Governor's Mansion and featuring the University President, the Chancellor and the Chairman of the BOR. Unfortunately I cannot make it but I'd sure like to discuss Sark's flirtation with the NFL if I could LOL 2 Quote
TexasMDcoach Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I decided to go watch an OU game in Norman this past weekend. I had never been to their stadium. The stadium is completely enclosed and was very loud. They have their Heisman trophy winters and the Selmon Brothers statues outside the stadium. They also have a player walk-in which is a poor man's version of our Bevo Boulevard. Went to one of their most famous tailgates which was very well done. The tailgate consisted of a house that a friend of mine bought just for that purpose that is within walking distance of the stadium. In the back they had a place for a band to play live music, sitting area with TV screens to watch pregame and post-game, a bar and lots of food and drinks. They also have a vehicle they call the Schooner that will drive you and drop you off at the stadium though with close enough to walk. The stadium seats were so close together that the game was uncomfortable to watch at times despite having premium seats on the 50-yard line. My biggest complaint of the stadium was very loud pipe and music and advertising virtually the entire game, so loud you could barely hear the person sitting next to you between plays. Also, so loud that you could not hear the band at all. Was a somewhat rainy day and cantankerous crowd at times because they lost pretty handily to Ole Miss. I do not plan to ever go back though I am glad I got to see how the other side lives. 4 Quote
