  1. Guys most teams in the lottery are bad teams.
  2. Charlotte, Utah, Washington are all bad. I wanted to see him at the fourth pick, but LaMelo Ball is there. Who wants to play with him?
  3. 26 points a game and 40% from three this year. He definitely likes the team concept aspect, he always wanted it that way. Fitting into the team won’t be a problem. Obviously injuries are a concern, but I think they know that. He can take over if you want him to, but is fine passing to the hot hand.
  4. He’s an unstoppable scoring machine. He shot over 40% from three this year. I think they will be okay. He will miss games, but the guy came back full strength from a ruptured Achilles. They are banking on winning now.
  5. Based on the offers made, Duke will be involved in many of them. Miller is going after elite players. He’s got to win some of the battles.
  6. There is no getting around what was in that decision. Guys will go to the highest bidder, if they want. If we feel we deserve a raise, we ask for it. If we don’t get it we move on. It has been determined that 20.5 is the number (salary cap). Problem is the current athletes do not have any say in that. Litigation will come, so temporarily a current athlete will have to adhere to the rules of a conference, while the litigation continues. Of course a judge may hit pause on this, and things continue as is until the issue is resolved. Either is possible. When does the issue finally get resolved? Who knows.
  7. What’s crazy is even with collective bargaining you can still have strikes. It will be a negotiation for eternity.
  8. I would agree. Anything involving the NCAA is a road to nowhere.
  9. The problem is “what school” is qualified to determine a players worth? They are not qualified to do so, neither is a clearing house or database.
  10. All it means is when is the next court challenge.
  11. Basketball is a revenue sport and getting Toppin last year paid off big time. Many people thought they were crazy. They just gave him another four million. These guys really want to win. A billionaire can do anything he wants. He seems to want Tech to be great in everything, but I don’t think that’s possible. It will never work in football. Talking about paying for twenty two starters and their second team (in case of injury), will never happen. What’s funny is that is how much money it takes to get athletes to go to Lubbock. It literally takes millions to get one player to go there.
  12. Is this the team? Are they still looking for one more player?
  13. The game is constantly evolving. Players are more developed. The regular standard (Princeton offense) has gone away. Forwards and centers have developed guard skills. You want to get into who goes harder in a game? Check out some European leagues. All they know is going hard. Did you expect players to never attempt to learn other skills besides low post play? There are European offenses in basketball at the NBA level and College level. I don’t see pansies when I look at Joker, Luka, etc. The game will continue to evolve.
  14. If Jonah is going to smirk at the pitcher, don’t strike out on the next pitch.
  15. If you feel that way then stop watching. The title of this post is not true. Do you truly believe Texas baseball sucks? The entire program and its history?
  16. Who did Texas replace Ryan Conwell with? Coach Miller said they went after him, but couldn’t get him (high price). It will be interesting to see how the shooting guard position plays out over the year.
  17. If Duke loses their guy to the draft then they probably get Sarr.
  18. Both Dallas stars are over thirty. One is always injured and the other will be recovering from an ACL injury. Can Cooper develop fast enough for the Mavs to win? What’s left when Davis and Irving start to decline?
  19. Copper Flagg wouldn’t go. They have no draft pics because of previous trades and have a high player salary roster. They would have to blow it all up and start over.
  20. Hope all that perimeter shot developing improvement shows up in this game.
  21. Love Pop and will miss him immensely. Great coach, respected by all who played for him or against him. I find it hypocritical that he shouldn’t be allowed to express his own thoughts on the world but we can. Who is allowed to speak on world events? Is there a list? Who’s on it? What qualifies somebody to speak on world events? He doesn’t lose his right to speak because he’s involved in sports. POP answered difficult questions about today’s world. They asked and he answered. Don’t ask him if you don’t want an answer. NBA is doing just fine, despite all attempts to weaken it because some people don’t like what certain players say. Interesting that those same people, and so called news channels, seem to love them when they say something they agree with. Pop calls it like he sees it. Do I agree with everything he’s said? No I don’t, but he has every right to say it. Thanks for the memories Pop. Best of luck to you as a gm. Really good at spotting talent. Go Spurs.
