  1. Good question ... I saw his name in a mock draft recently, I think it was rounds 1-3 and he was tabbed either 2nd or 3rd round, so why play another year in college? Unless he thinks he can pull a lot more NIL$ than NFL$ ... (just checked two sites, one has him CB5 in the draft, 2nd round, the other has him going in round 3)
  2. And we would need at least 125 scholarships to add all the players the 'people in this thread' deem scholly worthy ...
  3. Guessing that Texas players entering the portal are off the team right away, not practicing for the bowl games? That would seem to be the cleanest, probably best way to deal with it but the Arizona State coach, Kenny Dillingham, has a different approach. He's allowing players to announce now so they don't miss out on the first window, but stick around thru the playoff run to remain part of the team. Maybe they lack quality depth and need practice players? Not sure why he's doing it that way. What happens when a current player in the portal wants to skip practice and take a recruiting trip to an interested school? Anyway, a different approach for sure ... he sounds like a player's coach.
  4. $%&! Literally later the SAME day that ESPN has a nice feature article on him after his tip-INT return for a TD against the Giants - DeMarvion Overshown becoming difference-maker for Cowboys
  5. Thanks CJ ... I was looking at the ESPN stats for ASU and they didn't show Tapp with any stats in 2024 (tackles etc) so I just assumed he didn't play at all.
  6. He was attending ASU ... did you mean U of Arizona? That would make sense, it was a rout
  7. Can't find ANY stats for J'Mond at ASU ... anyone know if he was injured or just couldn't get playing time in 2024? A big get for us back in the day ...
  8. Wrong kind of bear. We need three grizzlies, not a teddy
  9. According to the Urban Dictionary: "Can I go?" There is one other meaning listed but I'm pretty sure it's not what he meant 🙂 https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Cigo
  10. Only one recruiting service has him as a 3 star ... who could that be? Shots fired!
  11. Smoke Bouie listed as a Georgia transfer but he didn't even make it thru spring ball before getting arrested and dropped from the program. Five DL listed with 5* ranking out of high school ... pretty incredible.
  12. Mitch Trubisky went # 2 overall and the Bears traded three picks to move up to get him. Mahomes went 10th overall in the same draft, so even the pros, with all their scouts and interviews and pre-draft testing, can't pick 'em a lot of the time. I think roughly half the QBs taken in the first round don't offered a 2nd contract.
  13. Little brothers taking it well, or at least as well as could be expected. This is one of the tamer posts "8 and 4 ever" (I guess until the bowl game) thread from TexAgs
  14. Pepper spray from cop just to right of center ... that will definitely break it up.
  15. I wanted to go Texas 27-25 with Randy Bond missing a 37 yard FG at the final gun, but it's hard to see how A&M scores 25 against our defense ...
  16. You don't know the difference between Arizona and Utah? WTF ... she's in northern Utah, closer to Idaho and Wyoming than Arizona.
  17. My understanding is that the 'settlement' will clarify the athlete-school monetary relationship (think of it as a minimum wage, benefiting mostly the vast majority of student-athletes in non-revenue sports with limited NIL opportunity) but that athletes will still be free to earn as much as they can outside that framework, ie, from NIL. Anyone hear differently, that this will shut the door on NIL deals for Dr. Pepper commercials or whatever?
  18. I was curious about how well KJ would do after losing Ryan Williams a year early so I checked his numbers on MaxPreps. They seem to be about 2 games behind based on the 10,446 passing yards stat given above, but you can see the trend. Some of the key stats are a little lower (QBR and completion %) but others are up (passing TD/game, TD/INT ratio, total yards/game). He didn't miss Williams all that much I guess.
  19. Not the answer. 1) As soon as the 'legal' cap is set to say $20M then the usual cheaters from the past will have an advantage every year they see fit to go to $22M or $24M or whatever is necessary. Schools that want to play by the rules (like, I hope, Texas) will once again be at a disadvantage. The bag men will return. 2) The courts won't allow it unless it's a result of a collective bargaining agreement between a union and an employer (like the NFL for example). Check how fast the NCAA folded when the State of Tennessee filed suit for the rights of student-athletes (cough cough) to make all the could make without NCAA interference. And if college athletes every did unionize - well, what could possibly go wrong with THAT, right? What is the answer? I dunno - free market; eventually it will reach an equilibrium; Golden Rule (those with the gold make the rules?). Obviously the rich will eat the poor (metaphorically speaking, in the transfer portal) but at least we're at a 'have' school.
  20. Now show her the Aggie cheer leaders ...
  21. Let's get greedy - 4) Notre Dame loses to Army 27-25
  22. This is Larry Ellison, billionaire founder of Oracle, and this is his yacht. What's a few mill in NIL between friends?
  23. This is just too funny ... two weeks ago Connor Stalions joined the coaching staff at Underwood's high school. Nothing to see here folks, move along ...
  24. Austin American-Statesman in an article by David Eckert - click bait? You be the judge
