  1. Yeah, after he wins his 2nd Heisman you gotta think he'll give the NFL a long hard look ...
  2. If our players start believing projections like this ...
  3. What I 'fear' (loosely speaking) is that they will pressure us with their front four and blitz LBs like Georgia did (though obviously with lesser talent). If our RBs can pick up the blitz and our OL can figure out the stunts we'll probably be OK but if Quinn panics and turns it over a couple of times, or if our OL gets jumpy or handsy and draws penalties and we keep giving A&M short fields either from turnovers or punts from deep in our own territory then they can beat us. I don't think they can beat us if they have to drive 70 yards to score, but if they keep getting the ball inside the 50 then sooner or later they'll scratch out some points. They have some studs on the DL and you know Tickle Me is going to send the pressure. How Quinn handles it could be the biggest key.
  4. Twenty one point favorite you say? The week before our epic showdown with A&M? Don't bite
  5. Not PFF, but his QBR ranking was 11th out of 12 qualifiers in the SEC last week - for the season he's 7th out of 15 https://www.espn.com/college-football/qbr/_/group/8
  6. Let's not get too far over our skis ...
  7. I dunno for sure but I read it on the internet so ... Here's the article I saw, from someone at USA Today - "NCAA sanctions give Southern California ammunition to fire Lincoln Riley and escape contract" - link Key quote - Southern California is a private school, and details of Riley’s reported $110 million deal from 2021 haven’t been publicly released. But every coaching contract has a clause in it, specifically outlining firing for cause if the program is placed on NCAA probation. A sports agent familiar with college coaching contracts who spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the matter, said USC would’ve been foolish to not include the specific NCAA clause. Without it, Riley would be free to flout NCAA rules without repercussion.
  8. USC just got put on probation for a year for things assistant coaches pulled. No big deal, except they found Lincoln Riley violated "head coach responsibility" rules and USC agreed to it. Which means USC can now fire Riley 'with cause' and not owe him the tens of millions of dollars left on his contract. Better win these next few games Lincoln!
  9. Clearly he hasn't had his 2nd cup of coffee yet
  10. Lot of people might be seeing "NoDak" and figuring you for a Cowboys fan ...
  11. A member of the deer family, hopefully close enough ... from a Yukon Territory pack trip years ago. Won a Safari Club International award for the outfitter, the guide and myself and also made the Boone and Crockett Record Book for Mountain Caribou
  12. One hypothetical worst case chaos scenario floating around has Texas losing to Arky or Kentucky, then beating A&M plus Georgia beating Tennessee. That could set up eight SEC teams tied for first with 6-2 conference records - go figure out how that one plays out.
  13. I get Evan Stewart vibes with this recruitment ...
  14. Haven't seen any mention of this yet ... And then there's this nightmare of a beat down ... never underestimate your opponent in an away rivalry game, especially when you are their # 1 most hated rival and they wouldn't even make the top 4 of important games on your schedule this year
  15. Tell Paul that you think A&M should ditch the SEC and join the B10 to get away from Texas, even though you (Aggie you) know Texas will follow you since that's what they always do (like joining the SEC). Say that Texas has ruined it for A&M, toss in some bitching about the refs and Texas having too much influence on league big wigs. (don't roll your eyes, leaving for the B10 was a popular meme on Texags for a while) Tell PF that you think FSU will then take A&M's place in the SEC. That should stir the convo ... win-win baby!
  16. He spent two years in junior college but is now claiming those years should not count against his college eligibility. No doubt he figures two more years of NIL would be better than getting a job. Crazy. An unexpected side effect of NIL. Any lawyers out there (Mark in Austin?), what do you think his chances of winning are? "Pavia argues in the lawsuit that counting junior college seasons toward years of NCAA eligibility "unjustifiably restrains" the ability for college athletes like himself to earn money through their name, image and likeness for the full four seasons."
  17. Not that it matters now since Aggies lost, but I think you are right upon re-reading the rules on page 3 at https://www.secsports.com/fbtiebreaker Specifically this part - 2. Three-Team Tie (or More) for First Place: In the event three or more teams are tied for first place in the Conference standings, the procedure below will be used in descending order. After the head-to-head competition among the tied teams, if a tiebreaker step produces standings with a clear No. 1 team by itself, that team is selected for the championship game [so, Georgia at this point?} and the remaining teams still in contention revert to the beginning of the applicable tiebreaker procedures (e.g., if there are three tied teams, the No. 1 team is in the championship game and the other two teams go to the first step of the two-team tiebreaker procedures for second place; [so this is where the rules state it restarts and we'd be ahead of A&M, assuming we both finished 11-1 but we beat them in the head-to-head ... no longer an option for this to happen, but good to know. Thanks for the info]
  18. Sounds more like Liquor and Football streaming to me
  19. I live in Arizona, which was the most closely contested swing state in 2020 and is one of seven swingers this year. >30% registered R, > 30% registered D, > 30% registered Independent (probably 5% IDGAF, mad at everybody). My phone rings constantly with robo calls telling me who to vote for and the local TV ads are seemingly 80% political ads. A guy in a neighboring subdivision just got caught after shooting up the D local field office in nearby Tempe - three times the past month. Always at night so not trying to kill anyone, just scare them. He could have been a neighbor - same age as me, white male with technical degree in engineering (like me), nice 3 bdr home in well manicured subdivision (like me). When the police entered the home they found over 120 firearms, up to machine guns and grenade launchers. I'm OK around guns but I peaked with a .22 I had since a teen, a Remington 12 gauge automatic and a .270 Winchester Model 70 bolt action that I used on a Yukon pack trip for Dall sheep, moose and a Boone and Crockett record book caribou, then later a cheap African plains game safari in Namibia. Never felt the need for a concealed weapon permit or handgun or AR style rifle. So I found it a bit freaky that this dude, with 120 guns, had ~250,000 rounds of ammo. Wut? Jeez - this election can't be over soon enough. Just hope there's no violence in the key swing states.
  20. Sure, but the criteria for a three way tie head-to-head is that all three teams played each other, so it won't count. But it WOULD matter if A&M loses the SEC championship game to Georgia, leaving them with 3 losses, including one to us. Then we'd no doubt be ranked above them for seeding (they might not even make the 11 + 1 cutoff with 3 losses). Hopefully at # 5 or 6 so we'd get one of the weakest teams in the first round, then likely the Big 12 or ACC champ in the 2nd round. (Too much speculation on my part - Florida, Florida, Florida - that's the one we need next 🙂 )
  21. Ant Hill is such a smart player ... notice on the INT how he looks around and finds a guy coming up behind Black who might be able to make a play, and Hill screens him off without risking a penalty. And this is the first time I've seen the play (no SEC Network) - didn't look like much of a penalty by VB from that angle, though it did look like Sorrell might have raked the QB across the face (face mask?) as he went by. So glad we got Mack and Black in this class.
  22. Four games left and every team we face will have lesser talent than us, but each team has some dudes on the defensive line who can cause our OL problems. I'm pretty sure they'll be coming hard after what we've done the past two games. Kentucky and Florida (in Austin) should be doable though it might get ugly, but you know the Hogs and Aggies (on the road) will be fired up and coming for blood. The team needs answers if we're to go 4-0 the rest of the way. Can we at least stop with the stupid penalties on offense?
