  1. I think there were 10 seconds left in the game, clock stopped after incompletion (?), OSU needed a few more yards for a first down and to get in position for a winning FG. This penalty ran the clock down to 6 seconds IIRC before OSU realized what the duck was happening, then the OSU QB ran for a few yards and got down on purpose but time had expired. So basically instead of just enough time for two plays (if they got a first down) OSU had time for just one play. Belichickian in my view.
  2. Anyone else remember the Greatest Recruiting Class in History from 2022? Those players are now eligible for the draft but the only A&M player on this list of projected first rounders is a transfer from Purdue. And the only name I recognize from that original class is LT Overton, who is now at Alabama. Eight 5* recruits in one class and very little to show for it. As a wise man once said "You guys keep talking about a $20 million roster ... [but] If you don't pay the right guys, you'll be sh-- out of luck." Or don't have the right staff to develop them.
  3. Top 5 QBs by salary and their teams' records - $60 million - Dak Prescott (3-2, 2nd in division) $55 million - Trevor Lawrence (1-4, last in division) $55 million - Joe Burrow (1-4, tied for last in division) $55 million - Jordan Love (3-2, tied for last in division) $53 million - Tua Tagovailoa (2-3, tied for 2nd/3rd in division, concussed for nth time and may retire) And don't forget the QB with the longest fully guaranteed contract, Deshaun Watson - (1-4, tied for last in division) -- Just scanning the list of the 10 division leaders counting ties there isn't a clear pattern of whether it's good to pay big bucks or not 2 (Texans and Commanders) have QBs picked 2nd in their drafts playing on rookie deals - this is ideal if you can pull it off because it frees $35 million or so for roster building, but it's interesting that the two QBs taken ahead of these two QBs in the drafts haven't played as well, so it's a bit of a crap shoot picking the right guy 4 (Seahawks, Tampa Bay, Vikings, Steelers) have relatively low cost reclamation project QBs - this is dicey because there's a reason Smith, Mayfield, Darnold and Fields crashed elsewhere. How deep in the playoffs can they take you? 4 (Bills, Chiefs, Falcons, Ravens) have highly regarded guys (Cousins less so than the others) making good money, though Cousins, Lamar and Allen will all have doubters until they win big in the playoffs Dak had the Cowboys in a bind because he couldn't be tagged and was in his last contract year, so they had to overpay if you just look at his performance
  4. Heads exploded in College Station hearing that 🤢
  5. Jeez, from the title I thought you were talking about college kids and NIL spiraling out of control ...
  6. LSU, A&M and Texas are all undefeated in conference play, but LSU and A&M lost out of conference games, so we are the only undefeated SEC team (is the way I see it)
  7. ESPN had two QBs ranked above Arch and they actually wrote it was because he didn't attend the camps (probably Elite 11?), so they couldn't make a direct comparison between him and the other top guys. Jackson Arnold was their # 1 QB, followed by Dante Moore ... I remember them putting Moore ahead of Arch when he did well at a major camp. Sounded like they were miffed at Arch's snub. On3 had him as their # 2 QB behind Nico, but both ON3 and 247 composites had him # 1. Now ESPN looks silly, with Moore barely lasting a semester at UCLA and Arnold likely looking for the exit.
  8. One undefeated team in the SEC - Texas. Wow
  9. Wasn't that long ago that we got the # 1 offensive player in Louisiana and the # 1 defensive player in Louisiana - in the same class 🙂 It's rare but it can happen
  10. Vandy has more total yards, more first downs, double the time of possession deep in the 4th quarter - I know the two turnovers made a big difference but Vandy is still playing them pretty even otherwise. A shocker for sure.
  11. Bulletin Board Aggies feeling a bit chesty after their beat down of # 9 Missouri. In response to the question "We beat #9…where do we move up?" this was my favorite response
  12. That crash you heard is the "Eli Drinkwitz to Florida" bandwagon veering into a wall.
  13. I just read the article and was wondering "who the hell was the ONE coach who voted the Aggies job # 1?" Was that YOU Tuco Ramirez? “Haven’t cashed in yet but it’s a gold mine,” a Power 4 coordinator said. “Best facilities. Most money. Most resources. NIL elite. Football state. One of the best followings. No limitations. Most don’t agree (but) just my opinion.”
  14. When I saw the headline, with Texas # 2, I tried to guess who might be # 1 and I also landed on tOSU ... I could see picking them over Georgia mainly because of the lack of competition in their conference. But yeah, Georgia has it rolling right now too 🙂
  15. Thanks Adam - I had no idea how we had 'territory' in central California until I read "We accumulated land from ... Michigan (their home territory and the home territory of Fresno St. - Michigan's first win)"
  16. Kinda hoping for a Kelshaun flip from A&M and a Pettijohn flip from tOSU and a CB flip from somewhere ...
  17. Yeah, as soon as I read this I knew it was him, thanks. Too lazy to look it up and the only D guys from Michigan I knew were Grant and Graham (because we fans hoped one might portal to Texas) and CB Will Johnson.
  18. That was a yummy snack indeed. Thanks CJ
  19. "0 QB hits, 0 sacks, 1 QB pressure" - I watched part of the USC - Michigan game and Michigan's right DE was wreaking havoc on practically every passing down, pressuring the QB or disrupting the play. I think this was the guy Gerry mentioned as being a possible early NFL draft candidate. I thought "wow, glad he had a bad game against us, I can't remember anyone from that side of the line making a play." Then it dawned on me - 'oh, he would have been facing Kelvin Banks - that explains why he was basically erased and I never noticed him' 🙂 What a player, so glad Kelvin signed with us instead of Oklahoma State oops Oregon (yep, Texas was his third 'commitment')
  20. Ant Hill is "the worst player in their front 7"? WTF! Someone show this to Anthony every day until he's locked and loaded for the big game.
  21. Taafe is dating Sabrina Carpenter now?
  22. Don't forget Micah Hudson! What a WR class! (Sarkasm, before anyone gets riled)
  23. Currently losing 21-10 in the fourth quarter. Outrushed (so far) by Auburn, outpassed 256 - 96 yards thus far ...
  24. Now if A&M loses to Arkansas, Notre Dame loses to Louisville and Oklahoma loses to Auburn - and Texas covers the spread - it will be a very very satisfying day.
  25. I remember we wanted to sign him out of the portal SO BADLY last spring. As St. Nick said "You gotta pay the right players or you're sht outta luck".
