Possibly he's just signaling to other programs that his recruitment is wide open, that he's not waiting around for Texas any longer. Sounds like he jumped the gun with us, confusing an "offer" with a "committable offer", and perhaps he quit taking calls from other schools. (Yeah I know, a lot of speculation on my part in those two sentences ...) Looks like a Big 12 guy to me, or maybe one of the California ACC schools ... I wish him well.

Finebaum the Great has issued an Executive Order proclaiming Arch the "best college QB since Tim Tebow!" so 5,672 should be possible. The best QB I've seen since Tebow was this guy - what are the odds Arch has a better season than Joe Burrow in 2019? I especially like the 60-6 TD/INT ratio and the 76.3 completion percentage.

Couldn't we play 17 games, like we almost did last year? 12 regular season + 1 conference championship game ... if we are outside the top 4, say 5-12 like last year, we could play 4 more games to reach the championship round. Right? Or did I miss something?

Roosevelt Leaks was a great player, # 3 in the Heisman voting his junior season and favored to win it his senior season before injuring his knee. Another old timer here - I arrived at UT in 1973 (Leaks' junior year) as a grad student and watched him play a couple of times. Ossai and Jefferson were excellent players for the Horns but Leaks was on a whole 'nother level of excellence.

I was going to post something similar from an article New NIL enforcement targets collectives, deals must serve ‘valid business purpose’ in The Athletic (paywall) - the NIL Go dudes are turning down almost all the collective proposed deals. Lawyers, who supposedly were paid $750,000,000 litigating the original House settlement, are already drawing up battle lines for the next round of lawsuits - Plaintiffs’ lawyers in House v. NCAA settlement to get roughly $750 million in fees (paywall). One question I had was what are the consequences if agents simply ignore the NIL Go rules? Supposedly the payments would be banned but what happens to the player and the school if they simply do it anyway? Or pay the parents instead of the recruit? I couldn't find any enforcement mechanisms or clear cut rules for penalties. Without subpoena power (the fatal flaw of the NCAA Compliance team) to check banking records it's hard to see how this might be enforced. some quotes: [quote] The goal is to prevent schools from utilizing booster-driven entities to funnel payments to recruits and transfers as a workaround to the $20.5 million revenue-sharing cap.
