  1. Full figured
  2. A lot of the NIL data is coming from Openendorse's Black Book, which supposedly details about 30% of the estimated $1.7 billion NIL market (my source is the Athletic, via NY Times - link below - may need a sub to access it). Here are some of the tables in the article: they quote average for P4 starters and for position players in the SEC - FSU is paying much more than the average ACC program but roughly 60% of the SEC. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/08/31/business/nil-money-ncaa.html
  3. Really good interview Bobby, appreciate it! Funny that you guys were buds back in the 1990's.
  4. "We are TOO GOOD for this chicken spit league. You losers are holding us down and keeping us back." Say the # 17 and # 16 (tied) teams in the current standings of a 17 team league 🙂
  5. Nice honor for the big fella, and he's the first Longhorn to win an SEC weekly award. As Sark said this speaks volumes about his development under Coach Flood. "Williams earned a PFF run-blocking grade of 73.4, the highest of any Longhorn offensive lineman in the Colorado State game (Williams was edged out by the 74.8 grade of true freshman wide receiver Ryan Wingo for the team lead). To Sarkisian's point, Williams escorted ball carriers down the field on screens and quick passes from quarterback Quinn Ewers while showing off his feet, balance and power as a pulling tackle." "Williams wasn't considered a sure thing as a recruit, but getting off on the right foot has Sarkisian believing in what Flood and head strength coach Torre Becton put Williams in a position to maximize his potential. "This thing speaks volumes to his development," Sarkisian said. "It's a credit to him, it's a credit to Coach Becton in the weight room, I think it's a credit to Coach Flood and just the development that he's had, not only on the field but off the field in his time here." https://247sports.com/college/texas/Article/texas-offensive-tackle-cameron-williams-named-sec-co-offensive-lineman-of-the-week-235563125/

  6. Don't forget the Nevada boys in their 28-26 win against Troy Savion Red - 11 carries for 135 yards (12.3 ypc) Kitan Crawford - 7 tackles, 2 solo Kristopher Ross - 6 tackles, 1 solo, 0.5 sacks, 1.5 TFL I wonder what Red weighs now? (listed at 216 ... had he kept to that weight he might still be a Longhorn) And Ross looked good in limited action last year ... oh well, wish you the best of luck fellas.
  7. “The best thing for Arch Manning is to spend five years at the University of Texas,” Brees said. ... "That’d be the best thing for him is just stay there, lock in, learn, grow, develop, become an incredible leader for that team and make a run at some national championships," Brees said. "Then, he will be the most prepared going into the NFL at that point." I could dig it. https://www.si.com/nfl/drew-brees-unorthodox-take-texas-arch-manning-approach-career
  8. When there's a game between any two of Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Notre Dame I never know who to root against because I can't stand any of them. But this time, now that we're in the SEC with the Aggies, I was glad to see Notre Dame win it. I think we'll have problems running against A&M, at least early, but their DBs won't be able to stay with our Thoroughbred WRs either. Did ND have any speedy WRs? Can't wait until we play them, even though it's in College Station.
  9. "Guys, it's not your fault. It's my fault for hiring you" 🙂
  10. Too bad he doesn't have a better sense of humor!
  11. But BIG for his age, no doubt
  12. Marquise Goodwin played football during the Mack Brown years and had a nice NFL career. He was a long jumper and in 2012 qualified for the Olympics with a jump that would have won Gold in the games had he been able to replicate it. Someone mentioned Lam Jones, who won an Olympic Gold as part of a 4x100 m relay team. He also ran in the 100 m and finished 6th, prompting Coach Royal to quip "Only five people in the world can outrun him and none of them play football." (Damn, just looked him up to get the facts straight and saw he died from cancer 5 years ago. I was at Texas when he played, time catches up to all of us).
  13. No on Ffrench moving us to top 5, but Ffrench and Terry would do it ... you can play the 'what if' game at this link https://247sports.com/college/texas/season/2025-football/classcalculator/
  14. Will be interesting to see how well he does without 5* WR Ryan Williams. I'm pulling for the kid.
  15. Just hover on his username and click 'Ignore' option and he be gone
  16. F%*@ - he's a neighbor of mine, I live less than a mile from his high school. I'm proud when any Arizona kids win a scholarship to play for Texas but was really pulling for this kid. Best wishes for a speedy recovery Christian.
  17. How is Cam doing against speed rushers in practice, like say Simmons or Trey Moore? (not disputing your pick, just wondering given Cam's size)
  18. Pretty sure you meant Hill instead of Ford when you wrote "left with the super explosive Ford" ...
  19. This makes at least eleven Longhorns medaling in the Paris games, right? This would put us # 11 among nations so far. https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/here-are-all-the-texas-longhorns-who-have-won-medals-at-the-paris-olympics/ar-AA1oce4Z
  20. DeAndre Moore first on the field (at 4 AM)?
  21. College football's top 25 players of the 21st century as ranked by Bill Connelly on ESPN. Just one Longhorn on the list and he's ranked a couple of spots lower than I'd rank him. # 2 will probably make you puke. # 11 played in high school near where I live (adjacent district), I was surprised to see him on the list but he did have 24 sacks and 31 total TFLs in his best college season, so yeah, I guess I can understand it. What do you guys think of the list? https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/40648172/ncaa-football-top-25-players-21st-century-tim-tebow-reggie-bush-cam-newton-more
  22. Well most polls I've seen have them at # 9 - in the SEC 🙂 So yeah, the Times may have missed this one.
  23. Or at a minimum let Georgia concentrate on DL talent within the lower 48 states and leave Hawaii, Alaska and the rest of the civilized world, including Europe, to us bottom feeders ???? Please!
