  1. A&M's 2022 class might be a topic of a 30 for 30 one day.
  2. I wonder if Tech has become the new evil empire in softball overtaking ou. ou was hated (outside of Norman) because they were dominant, Tech is becoming the bad guy outside of Lubbock for trying to buy a championship. To their credit, Tech fans are owning it saying, tell your boosters to spend money. But their excuse of ou and Texas has been paying players for years holds no water with me. It's not like Texas has been a powerhouse. The Cat years were primarily because of a once in a lifetime pitcher and only once Coach White arrived did Texas make noise in the WCWS. ou on the other hand, possibly, but it's not hard to believe that a standout pitcher wouldn't want to transfer there knowing they have a good chance at a championship.
  3. Any news that improves a Texas Longhorn team or sport I'm excited to hear.
  4. Apologies, I was referencing the late Stoops and Riley eras of all offense no defense.
  5. You could also throw in his offspring was also a star at Texas, although Clemens did the same thing on that front so not unique.
  6. I wouldn't say they cheated, but the did play to what the voters like - video game stats. They had offensive gurus and defense be damned, they'll just stack offensive talent and score. To their credit, it worked, however those offensive minds are gone and so is the offensive scheme that produced it. Can Mateer be good? Sure, but I'm in the opinion that he will be average. That's the thing with opinions, it's like arseholes, everyone's got one. Last year couple of years the criminals had been talking about how Jackson Arnold was better than Arch and would win the Heisman. Talk changed real quick a couple of games in.
  7. James was also undefeated for his entire career in football and was a 2 sport star, also has the only perfect game thrown in baseball's history.
  8. Content around Texas gets views, sadly for them, more than their own team. Personally, I only look for stuff about Texas, I couldn't care less what other teams are doing, with the exception that I do enjoy a tears thread or tears show once in a while (like after last year's games against both ou and atm.
  9. From AI: Hannah Wells: A standout pitcher and shortstop from Coahoma, Wells led her team to three consecutive state championships and is known for her impressive stats, including a 0.49 ERA and 258 strikeouts in her senior season.3 Anne Wallace: A catcher who adds depth to the Longhorns' lineup.3 Alisa Sneed: An outfielder who contributes to the team's offensive capabilities.3 Jaycie Nichols: An infielder who is part of the highly ranked recruiting class.3 Aundrea Wilson: An infielder who enhances the team's defensive and offensive options.3 Caigan Crabtree: A middle infielder who adds versatility to the roster.3 MaTaia Lawson: Another middle infielder who contributes to the team's depth Based on the quotes on TexasSports.com - Coach White said Jaycie Nichols has the potential to be the next Janae Jefferson/Mia Scott. And Alisa Sneed has tons of speed, so my guess would be for those two to potentially fill the vacancies with Wells pitching/DP batting.
  10. I'm guessing when she's not pitching she'll probably be the DP to bat but not have to play defense in the field.
  11. My guess at the projected starting lineup next year for softball would be: 1B - Stewart 2B - Goode SS - Martinez 3B - LF - CF - Henry RF - Maloney C - Atwood P - Kavan Potentially some stud freshman could take the open positions, but it's there for the taking for the right person in the portal. How funny would it be if Lindemuth transferred to Texas and is a major factor in Texas beating Tech in the WCWS? Let's face it, with the lineup they've put together, they should win the big 12 easily since there's no Texas or ou in their way.
  12. That’s because Stanford basically dominated due to the original scoring system allowing them to stack points because they have so many minor sports. CDC’s arrival was perfectly aligned with the adoption of the newer scoring system as well which has allowed Texas to compete as long as almost every sport is competitive - not an easy feat in itself.
  13. The way tech is spending money on transfers and tampering, if they don’t win it all next year, they will be the laughing stock of the year. All that money to be 2nd or worst just isn’t the same.
  14. Feel like the team deserves to be kept in the conversation after their accomplishment. Looks like Coach is bringing in a pretty talented class, one of the players just won Gatorade player of the year. Hopefully fill in the holes left by key departing seniors. Get Kavan some help while shoring up the defense and the team is well positioned to defend their title next year. Separately. sand aggy is straight up not even hiding the fact that they are going all in on spending money signing about 5 of the top portal players and having their lower ranked players pack their bags.
  15. Coach White is going to need to pull a few transfers imo because losing 6 seniors is no joke, especially when 1 of them is a superstar in Mia Scott. A couple of former #1 recruits in the portal right now that are available including a pitcher from UCLA.
  16. Do we know her skillset and what she brings?
  17. IMO Mia will be the hardest senior to replace
  18. Texas currently has the #4 recruiting class with no top 20 players. However the portal can be an equalizer if you get the right players as evidenced by Tech.
  19. CDC and the Texas team organized this in less than 24 hours. They must have worked all night on the logistics, that or they had plans assuming they would win it all prior to the games.
  20. Who thought this was a good idea? 🤣
  21. I’d definitely say it worked for them, national exposure, made it to the championship and had a chance to win it all, love fest for the Cinderella story. Without Canady they don’t even make a regional.
  22. Congrats Texas softball!!! So well deserved Kavan 0 earned runs the entire World Series. Mia Scott with a torn ACL, and the rest of the team not folding even after all those errors, not letting it snowball.
