  1. Heck yeah, two a days in the late 80s early 90s in Austin in August (100 degrees +) with a pvc pipe rigged up to a hose for water breaks. We would walk to the 7 Eleven 2 blocks from the high school to get Big Gulps, Fritos, and a chili dog in between practices, and still not get nauseated at the second practice. I guess because we were young and too dumb to know better. But I digress….
  2. I played mostly linebacker and fullback, but my coach had me at right guard sometimes just to pull and lead block on sweeps sometimes. I guess I was a battering ram, (CTE what?!) but I remember when I went over with the lineman having to fire off low under the chutes, and our coach had 8x6 boards on the ground under the chutes that we had to straddle as we fired off with choppy steps to teach us to keep a wide base for run blocking. Sleds were involved in practice as well. I’m sure they had those out at Hays Consolidated?
  3. If he lives up to that name…….
  4. Right. Some players that can fire off low with a flat back and drive their feet. Move their feet in pass pro laterally without crossing them over and give a good punch with their hands. I don’t get paid millions, but what the hell? Are we teaching the basics before all these complicated blocking schemes.
  5. Gerry Hamilton nominated for Mr. Texas Recruiting.
  6. “Still waiting”. It’s coming. It’s coming. When he’s 50 this metric is going to plague his career.
  7. Answered like a gentlemen and a father. I like this guy already.
  8. Wait, I’m confused, who was hired to be the managing editor of this website ?
  9. He had us figured out too. Ignore the name, self scouting fellas. Not to mention, like the Patterson hire years ago, this guy has been scouting, scheming, and playing not only SEC offenses, but defenses for the past 13 years. And head coach and managerial experience. Not a bad thing about this
  10. Nice win again. And still have some teaching points to go over to make this team even better. Excited for the rest of season and conference play. Wish we could watch all the games on a streaming like this . Reminds me of the old days with LHN.
  11. Got out of jams when we needed too. Too many free passes led to too many base runners. Harrison is going to have some young pitchers on his tail for the Saturday spot if he doesn’t watch out, got to throw strikes. Still, a good game, but first one that seemed lose-able if that makes sense. I guess you can’t dominate everyone, but their fielding mistakes and inability to capitalize off of our pitching out of the zone got us the win.
  12. What if we hadn’t beaten Aggie last 3 times we’ve played them? And resources? They had the highest recruiting class in the history of the rankings and didn’t do jack with it! Come on !
  13. Or that, and Colt doesn’t go down in natty next year. Two more National championships and a dynasty. My take is “what if’s” are stupid.
  14. 1. Taxi 2. Cheers 3. Fresh Prince Bel Air 4. Friends 5. Seinfeld 6. Mash 7. Alias 8. Cosby Show 9. Different Strokes 10. Facts of Life 11. Love Boat 12. Fantasy Island 13. Moro and Mindy 14. Dukes of Hazzard that’s all I got
  15. That is a burnt orange chicken though.
  16. And that SOB can play guard! AND middle linebacker !
  17. Did someone say we got a center?
  18. Easton Royal. This guy just needs to play baseball play baseball with that name. Think of the NIL.
  19. It’s because we don’t have to be 100% better at every position, we just have to be a little bit better at some. While several positions will be a lot better. And I like the burnt orange coolaid! There I said it.
  20. Everybody freaking out about guard. I get it, but people get stronger and better. It cannot get worse than last year. At times LG was an open sieve, and we were one game away from the playoff. I think we are one to two games better with what we got in the portal no matter what happens. Surely we can get someone to just put their body in the way of people, which was more than was done in some games last year . The frustrating part for me is our offense must be incredibly difficult to learn, because how hard is it to get 300+ lb humans stronger and teach them to fire off low with flat backs and drive their feet? We must be doing some more complicated stuff that doesn’t afford the opportunity to just block the guy in front of you. I think simpler blocking schemes more apropos for college when you only have players 3/4 years to reach them.
