  1. This. It wouldn’t be worth it for Texas, we have the athletes and the exposure already. Was it worth it for a Tech team and brand that is irrelevant? It thrust them into a national championship, gave them the label of “caring” about women’s sports (good PR), they are on ESPN showing Patrick Mahomes. The result of the gamble that hit improves their brand/exposure, and has the potential to increase enrollment, thus generating revenue . Also, agree that the donor doesn’t care about return (he can give oil money directly to the school if that is his only goal), it was obviously worth it to him to compete for a championship, or he wouldn’t have done it.
  2. This inning out of the Texas baseball playbook.
  3. In your opinion, do we get a top 3 class recruiting class in football this next signing day?
  4. Is Colton Vasek back and going through team workouts?
  5. Sure. Every other sentence? It’s the 40 acres! That’s iconic, don’t mess with that phrase. Say, “Texas has 4 400+ batters to lead off”. Say it 20 times, don’t repeat an iconic phrase wrong 20 times that has nothing to do with averages. It’s like when I tell a dad joke over and over again even though no one laughs. It was worn out.
  6. Why does the announcer keep saying “400 acres”? I know because of the batting averages, but it’s annoying.
  7. Love the strategy by Mike White. Let’s hope it continues to work. Starting Mac was a gamble, but could prove to be brilliant. This way their hitters haven’t seen Kavon’s stuff multiple at bats this game, and we wear on their ace while ours had half a game of rest.
  8. I just can’t stand to look at the last thread for Texas baseball for the year being titled “Texas baseball sucks”. I’ve had my frustrations too after a lack luster end of the season since A&M, but that was only because they played so well for the first 2/3 of the schedule. They reset the expectations before injuries and some hitting slumps derailed them. Overall, they beat down and swept most of their SEC competition, won an SEC championship (all but securing a Directors cup), and won both series against our rivals (Aggies, Sooners, still suck). Texas baseball is on the right track, let’s get these signees to campus and climb over this hump. Thank you Texas baseball for an awesome season. And with all the Latin influence on the roster, I think we went from having the “Hispanic Titanic” (one ship years ago), to having the “Spanish Armada” , Galvan, Flores x2, Mendoza, and Rodriguez. We appreciate you guys. Hook’em
  9. Walked the lead off, so on cue we should probably hit one of the next batters
  10. That’s the best contact Flores has had in weeks.
  11. With the cushion Jeff, do you think they just need to stretch the pitching as much as they can?
  12. Gasparino needs to be out of the lineup. Useless at bat. 3 balls and no strikes and you swing at 4th ball and pop it up to get 2nd out. Wow, needs a reset
  13. Was he there (Austin) yesterday while we were sending Oklahoma softball to the elimination game in his state,
  14. Who let him in the stadium? Can we file breaking and entering? Trespassing?
  15. I nominate you for new college football commissioner. I like it.
  16. Agreed, but no one here seems to give him much “credit”, they just b$tch about his last 2 years whenever he comes up. One of which he played for a conference championship. And there’s the 10 years of 9+ winning seasons I guess. I’m grateful for him taking us out of the late 80s early 90s slump.
  17. We are talking about next year QBs. Focus. Because someone says another QB will be considered a top QB for 2025, they are an enemy? Doesn’t correlate, buddy. And Sam Leavitt was a freshman and first year starter, we are predicting trajectory here, he had way better first year stats than Quinn if you’re measuring. Again, Quinn is gone, and we are talking 2025, so not measuring.
  18. Sam Leavitt might need to be mentioned in the top 3. Klatt has always liked Texas.
  19. Make sure you only use Traeger brand pellets. Any other pellets don’t work. Think that’s by design. After getting it started, keep it open for 10 minutes on smoke setting first before you set it to the temp you are going to cook your meat. Also, you might have too much soot or ash in the hopper. Make sure (when the grill is cool of course) that you clean out the granules and soot from your hopper, then refill with full pellets. If you’ve already tried all this, I would return it, because it should smoke.
  20. I have the XXL big green egg. I use lump charcoal and some wood and occasionally some lump charcoal logs my wife bought online from Japan (those last days, don’t know what is in them). Also have an Argentinian grill with a box below and mechanism I can hang meat and lower it to the coals. Also a Traeger at the RV, and kettle Weber. Pizza oven and a table top balckstone. Whew! 😅. You asked. Right now I use the BGE the most, I start a nice fire then get it to coals and you can do most anything. For the Traeger chicken on the bone (about 40 min 300) and pork tenderloins (45/50 min 350) , pork chops (less time just watch these depending on thickness 300) come out nice. You can do a brisket for sure because you can keep such a consistent heat with the Traeger (it’s cheating but who cares), make sure your brisket is about 1 1/2 to 2 inch thick with consistent thickness to the point. Trim excess fat to 1/4 inch or less. Olive oil salt and pepper brisket (kosher salt and cracked peeper best, a lot of it. You can add some coffee grounds and paprika if you want to get fancy. Cook on 275 for 4/5 hours just on the grates, spray with water or apple cider vinager q1 hour, cover with butcher paper after 4 hours and cook 8/9 more hours check internal temp with probe at end last hour to get brisket to 190/200 temp then cut off. You want brisket at 204 temp at the end after rest. So know it will still cook after you take it off and rest. Eat it soon and you will be golden.
  21. What we usually do well, we didn’t. Getting early favorable pitching counts, and laying off bad pitches to get into good hitting counts. It’s annoying it was against the hogs. They are insufferable. With all the pig yelling.
  22. What a butt kicking this weekend. It was way better being competitive in losses. Oh well, hope we get it together for the next series.
  23. Is anyone else having trouble with videos cutting off by themselves when you enter them from the OTC site? Wondering if it is just something with my phone, or if something with the site.
