  1. Oh we still have this thread? I forgot about it, Aggie hasn’t played football in a while.
  2. Defer. We don’t start fast, and Quinn has a history of needing to settle into the environment. If we go 3 and out, or heaven forbid, turn the ball over we would be way behind the 8 ball. I know they start fast, but I trust our rested defense more than the offense starting well.
  3. Texas- 27 Ohio State- 20 Texas silently tired of hearing how they are going to lose all week, and elite athletes finally play to their full potential. And Quinn balls out against his former team and coach to prove something.
  4. What the heck does Dan Lanning have to do with Sark? This thread is about Dan Lanning leaving.
  5. And we nearly guarantee no experience for backup that might actually be a starter later, and that is if the QBs (Trey Moore primarily) we recruited and put so many resources into doesn’t transfer. These kids aren’t just going to wait around at QB. They want to play. We are getting a little arrogant with the portal IMO if we try that, it’s a balance. This is an emergency QB, and someone for reps.
  6. To be fair, he just said he’s not worried about being the underdog (Vegas), because they’ve been that all season, and even before the season. It’s very mild trash talk, if any. The QB now, said he wants to be the best QB on the field, or outplay Quinn, still mild, but more directed to a player that can use that.
  7. If Auburn or any other school get enough players it won’t be a losing season. A team can potentially, if they can quickly acclimate the players and create a culture (hard to do), turn a team around in a season or two. This is one of the reasons for the parody in college football right now. At least we can pay players now as well. It used to be under the table and we were not going there (as much). Auburn won a national championship with Cam Newton in a one year turnaround before the portal and NIL era. Yiu don’t think they have the will and money to do it now? These kids are sold money, but also the pitch that we (Auburn or paying school) are willing to go out and get them players to win.
  8. Are they both 1000 all purpose yards at this point? Just looked it up they are.
  9. Are they both 1000 all purpose yards at this point?
  10. Like stated above, lack of pass rush at times (cover times increased against good receivers), Klubnik dropping dimes and in the zone, and great sideline catches made Mohammed look worse at times. Not that he was perfect, but noone can make those throws going forward except Gabriel maybe. Let them throw at him later, he will shore up I think. He will be a high draft pick one day. Some of those catches and throws were indefensible. Some crossing route coverages were dropped, but I’m sure there will be a 2 week focus on getting these things fixed. Jadhae Barron started the coaching on the field, he was yelling at players real time. Better to fail in a win and learn from it going forward. At least I hope this is what happens. We usually run some of those routes out of bounds and throw off, or intercept passes, that will come back.
  11. Wait, he’s Mensa?
  12. Should have gotten a degree from Duke, if he didn’t already. Unless they way underbid the NIL on him staying.
  13. Good read. Thank you. And to the hyper critical, I know those aren’t sentences above, and paragraphs can be optional on a casual website. This isn’t English Lit. We are adults. What makes Sark different? Saban had D tackles, partially kidding, but .. I think this is the most concerning thing for any future of the program (not this year of course). D tackles are going to be sought after by every major player and bidder, and getting 4 quality tackles, or 2, and 2 fillers will be incredibly tough. Major concern.
  14. Jim Tressel could be his OC.
  15. It’s both. Two things can be true at the same time. Actually, many things can be true. He plays really well at times, and then…..he doesn’t. Like I said in another post, he is high risk, high reward. The only stat that matters at the end of the game is the scoreboard. He doesn’t suck, and he’s not amazing. He is high risk, high reward. He didn’t play well enough against Georgia to win. You have to score touchdowns. You also have to make field goals, not commit penalties, and sniff out trick plays on 4th down. All these things are true. Some of the games this year he had horrific mistakes that the defense and guys thrown 5 yard passes in space bailed us out and got us the win. In those games, the only thing that mattered was the score at the end. Quinn gets credit now for those wins even if he didn’t play the best. And although he had an amazing 1st quarter this go around, he still gets credit for losing because we lost. Hope we win from mow on. If he plays well we can. If he doesn’t against an Oregon or Notre Dame we won’t overcome it.
  16. If Arch was better in practice he would not be given the start. Quinn came back, Sark is not just going to bench him at the end of the season, even if Arch is better. Maybe if he was “Way”. better, but there is no way that you supplant a 3 year QB with the backup at the end of the season without a reason (injury). Quinn gets us through this year as long as he is healthy. He is a high risk high reward QB. He can throw it on a dime at times. He has an inconsistent long ball. He has some of the worst perception of the pocket and pressure I’ve seen in a while. Those are specifics. Generalizations like he sucks, or he’s amazing are useless. If he plays well and scores 20+ points we probably win against anyone with what’s around him. If he takes sacks, fumbles in our territory, or throws costly interception we still can overcome it with a mid tier team, but we lose against good teams. This is the way. We got what we got. Lets hope we get the good Quinn that scores in stretches of the game for the next four games. I think we will, these teams aren’t Georgia. And let’s stop the penalties. Side note, but wow! They killed us. Control what we can control.
  17. We will see if TV sets and money play a part in the decisions pretty quick. SMU draws Dallas and Texas market, but not the national viewership Alabama does. Again, I don’t care, my pony is Texas, but what should happen and what might happen could be different.
  18. I agree with this caveat, Texas beats SC. Full disclosure of bias, I still have cool aid left and I’m a homer, but we are good against running QBs when we prepare for them, and though they have a pass rush, it’s not complemented with the linebackers Georgia has. Don’t get me wrong, their linebackers are good, but not elite with the instincts and speed of Georgia. Think we could score.
  19. I totally agree, but Alabama being in the previous ranking and being idle, not sure South Carolina (playing better and trending up) will jump them. Best to just have a deserving SMU there at 11/12. But what should be done and is done might be 2 different things. And this 12 team playoff was suppose to remedy controversy.
  20. I think they might put 3 loss Alabama in over SMU
  21. With a fight at the end, and both teams get pepper sprayed by police.
  22. I abstain
  23. Our Oline is tired of hearing it, and dominates their defensive line all day!
