I probably should rewatch 1st, but it’s not just the mechanics. The play calling was elite, and Quinn executed it like he should have. So, there’s that. And that is all he can do, but when the pocket was a little sketchy, he can’t handle it. His completions were screens and short scripted passes. That’s fine, just doesn’t say he’s back to pre injury status. And.. again he didn’t have to be. We won, I’m happy with that.

You’re right, something happened since Michigan, maybe the injury lingers or it’s mental, and can’t fault a kid for that. However, while yesterday’s raw stats might elude to Quinn being back, most of the plays were distributing the ball to elite athletes. Again, that is fine, but it’s not a sign he’s back. Throwing over the middle and the seam more accurately, maneuvering the pocket, setting his feet and throwing the deep ball would be a sign that he’s back. That didn’t happen to a great extent. Now the Deandre Moore ball was good and dropped, I’ll give him that. It has yet to be seen that when the screen game isn’t working can he pass is to a victory. Not that he has to impress or prove himself to us, but looking at the stats closer it doesn’t say that Quinn has gotten over whatever he is going through.

So right. That’s what I was arguing weeks ago about the NFL. Everyone then was popping on the Oline (and they should play better), but if you watched closely the play where Kelvin Banks battles at the goaline with that crazy good Defensive end ( forgot his name, and please no one remind me, don’t want to remember) That was a positive play for Banks. He was sliding and punching with that guy at a speedy athletic level. Guarantee that will be a positive play in his film. But everyone was saying how even Kelvin Banks gave up a sack. If you watch an NFL game that is what the rush looks like everytime. It’s a coming ! And you have to step up or get rid of the ball every time. Not hating on Quinn, quite the opposite, wish him all success, but he has to produce that before going to the NFL.

I think the thing is expectations rose when he played so well at Michigan. Then he stopped doing some of those things. The regression made people nervous. Not necessarily for the present, but for what it takes to win championships. Just like Carson Becks interceptions didn’t bite him right away, but they were going to at some point (Ole Miss); Ewers lack of pocket presence and giving short fields and stalled drives with sacks will come back to bite the team when we are playing a better team later (and bit us with Georgia, that was a winnable game). This team can win with Quinn distributing to talent, but if he could win games himself as well, we would be in a tier above the parody we now see in CF. No one is mad at his average depth of target, but the argument is that that is not a testament to Quinn’s talent, rather him being a distributor. When that doesn’t work, like what happened against Georgia, can he step up and go off script and get you a game.

That game was so awesome. Walter Peyton was unstoppable. And can’t remember, but one of the teams had a pass that was un defendable.

Man, Gibson runs so hard. Not harder than the other backs, but dare I say with more talent. He gets a little more than the play is blocked for each time. If he can cure the fumblerooskies (technical term), he might be the missing link to open up the offense.

My brother played against Drew Brees and Westlake. He was a runningback for Pflugerville and they got lit up by Westlake. He was a couple of years behind me. I have 2, I fumbled on the 5 yd line at House Park on a give me touchdown to go up against a rival. We turned it over and didn’t score. However, the worst was I played fullback and linebacker, and we were driving down the field for a go ahead score and I got my helmet locked up blocking a linebacker and he hit hit me after the play while our face masks were connected. I pushed him back pretty hard and separated our helmets and he fell down. I got the 15 yd penalty because they saw me, and we lost the game. I still remember my coach red as a beet and little pieces of tobacco dip flying in my face as he was holding my face mask and yelling at me on the sideline.

So would Beck for that matter. We would beat Georgia a second time. Fool me once good on you, fool me twice??? We would match their intensity the second time. Maybe eclipse theirs due to their overconfidence.

The outside and edge will be more open against A&M than they were against Georgia. If we match their intensity on perimeter blocking (they will be hyped up). The backs were bouncing a lot outside the tackles for SC. We could maybe use the Wingo sweep and the short passing game (i.e. low average depth of target, wow, did I just say that?) to beat them on the perimeter, they won’t close as fast as Georgia.

Someone who knows more about volleyball than me. What’s going on? How are we losing at home? We seemed stacked with young talent with a mix of talented veterans this year. Also sucks can’t watch matches on LHN.

These teams about to canabalize each other, but yes we should still win out and leave no doubt.

It’s both. QE made some electric throws no doubt. He made some hurp a derp plays ( i.e. giving up short fields again) not moving around, but he was better. Abysmal at Georgia. Vandy doesn’t have the elite defense we will see in the playoffs, or maybe even the end of the year. He needs to get out of his funk and play better. Vandy ain’t the measuring stick for sure. QE has the higher floor right now because of his experience and that is probably why Sark is sticking with him. But if that floor dips below Arch’s and Sark thinks we can’t do worse, there would be a change (like Georgia). Arch’s ceiling is higher. With the same amount of time and experience I think he would be lighting people up and this team would be complete, but we don’t live in the reality, he hasn’t played enough snaps yet to be that guy and we need to win now with this defense. So Quinn needs to get better for the time being. I think he can get back to his first of the year ability. We’ve seen flashes. IMHO
