  1. Because they said we would get Turntine. And that is what is happening. Good in state next year also.
  2. Let’s spend it in ‘27 then
  3. It’s disappointing with what is out there at tackle and what we have to offer. We’re cheap and behind the game. We will catch up, but we spun our wheels a bit like we did at the first of NIL. Now, don’t get me wiring, only talking about tackles this cycle and being a little spoiled, but we should close on 2 out of the 5 or 6 elite tackles available. And if we do I will recant. Aside from recent recruiting, I’m not being negative. Our roster management is fantastic. Not speaking against that. We are going to throttle some people with our defense this year. I just can be realistic and critical when I see a chink in the armor as well.
  4. And? Who else. Malakai Lee? We need 2
  5. I don’t get it. Isn’t this 5 star worth it? We need 2
  6. Ok, yep, averaged (20) !! tackles a game his entire college career while starting on both sides of the ball.. Won the Maxwell, Outland, and Rockne awards. Wow, that’s crazy.
  7. Great read, thank you . Bishop should be offense. I’m going I look it up now, but I remember Nobis had some gaudy defensive stats in college.
  8. Love it. These kids play these games and see it. Wingo and Simmons fuel. Simmons should be higher
  9. Totally! The whole purpose of dad jokes is to irritate your kids and/or teenagers
  10. Hope so. If we get Guervil I’ll feel pretty good still. Priority position, expensive to replace in the portal, we were suppose to get him, should be a good barometer.
  11. Yes, compliance department?? Heard of it ?
  12. You’re right, but it seems that we are leading for some recruits and at the last minute another school swoops in and takes them. I am assuming it’s NIL, or a bag. And the SEC has always been good at that. It’s because I trust our recruiters that I think this is true. The rules are the only thing that has charged since last couple of stellar years (we are still doing pretty good). Just think we might need to adjust, other schools are. As pointed out in the Sunday conversation.
  13. Again, I agree. I’m not saying they are idiots. They are the same recruiters that are winning battles still. They just seem to be losing these battles at the last minute to cheaters. SEC has been cheating a LONG time. This is how they like it. UTs compliance doesn’t care about football, they care about law suits. So we need to find a work around that is legal. Hope they do, and I’m sure someone is on it.
  14. I’m sure the compliance department has the final say.
  15. I doubt it. He has a say. He doesn’t solely deal with the business of work arounds. I’m sure they have someone on it. Lawyers, CDC, etc.
  16. I agree, but I didn’t complain in previous years. Well, maybe in the late Mack Brown years. I trust the staff, but they don’t control the money always. Everyone here is right, this is big boy recruiting, and we are going to follow the rules now and do little boy recruiting, this is concerning. We won these recruitments with the narrative and the kids wanting to come here with solid recruiters (I trust that), then it seems like we can’t close due to money. That doesn’t have much to do with recruiting chops. Has to do with the system. We need to funnel the money we were winning with the last few years into legitimate channels to make more competitive offers. We are Texas
  17. Now here is the positive, the sky isn’t falling because we lost some recruits. Our team is good and we have good retention and roster management. We also have mulligans later in the portal if we miss at the end. Also, some teams might later lose their head coaches that we are fighting for these recruits. However, we need to develop some work around to legitimately get these kids some higher bids with NIL. Plenty of longhorns own businesses.
  18. Well, since these rules and workarounds are new, maybe not? No precedent, so how do you know ? We are playing by the rules and others aren’t, so we are losing recruits at the last minute that favor us. This is the only evidence that is objective right now. I still trust the process, but doing the same thing when you are failing is the definition of insanity. You are all pointing to previous years when the house settlement wasn’t in place. Other teams in the SEC don’t play fair, if we do, we are at a disadvantage until we figure it out. And we better quick.
  19. Mack Brown had a lot of near misses also at national championships. Could have had 2/3 more, oh well. “Jimmy Saxton” led the offense in 1946, now “Jimmy Sexton” leads most of the 2025 college offenses by proxy. Sorry, saw a dad joke in there and had to take it.
  20. I think there will be a lot of parody in college football again this year so hard to tell. It just takes one slip up, but Texas has the potential to win 2025 and 2026. But.. “winning is hard guys”. -Tom Herman. and 2005 was more fun so far, but let’s see what happens
  21. This is what I think, I’m sure many will disagree. Offense/ Quarterback: better Running back: better Wide Receiver: step down Tight end: draw O line: slight step down Defense/ Edge: better Interior D line: draw Linebacker: better Safety: draw Nickle: better Cornerback: slight step down: Special Teams: better Looks pretty good to me: What say you?
  22. Johnathan Brooks was a small town back also I believe.
  23. I’ll have the steak, scalloped potatoes, and…………..eerrrrrrbody, please!
  24. Gerry and CJ reporting Chase leaning Texas ?? Is this just going back and forth?
