  1. Fred Acorn was pretty salty in the early 80s
  2. Little known fact: Dusty Hill is the cousin of propane super salesman, Hank Hill of Arlen Texas
  3. One of my favs!
  4. John Sinclair wrote “The Eyes of Texas” and yet his gravesite is overgrown with weeds. If any San Antonio ‘Horns want to help clean it up with me, let me know https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1Bj8urJve1/?mibextid=wwXIfr Hook’em
  5. Sipping Jack and Coke from a Dixie Cup while smoking a cigarette on the sidelines while the defense is on the field….Classic!
  6. From my era: Willie Mack Garza Tony Jones Eric Metcalf
  7. Coach Hays was also the father-in-law to Randy McEachern, former UT QB when Earl was winning the Heisman
  8. Sad to report on the passing for former West Columbia coach, Jack Hays. He is a member of the Texas High School Coaches Hall of Honor and was well respected by his peers. He was my cousin and spent his some of his childhood chumming with my father. Both were coaches and both in the Hall of Honor. His daughter, Jenna Hays McEachern has written about Texas football and is as much of a source on information as her friend Bill Little. Condolences of his kids Jack Jr., Jenna and Colonel Jeff Hays Jeff Hays spent many years coaching at Air Force Academy after graduating from there. Service details are pending
  9. Maybe we should consider ads for Onlyfans, Pornhub and Xvideos. Much better content I think. Note: I am kidding....kinda
  10. Agreed. We had guys like Mike Pollock and Kris Stockton who I had more faith in than Auburn
  11. I have an aggie coworker who says the reason Texas has such a huge overall record against the aggies is because for so many years the aggies did not admit women. I kid you not. That is his main excuse
  12. My teammate Duane Miller who was a three-year letterman at guard. (1987-1990) I had to go head-to-head with him on a daily basis and usually had to take a handful of Motrin afterwards. His then girlfriend (now wife) made some killer chicken spaghetti. Super nice guy. Became Todd Dodge's OL coach when he was a Rockwall and left coaching to become an attorney. Going back to old school guys: Bruce Scholtz, Mark Lang, The "smurfs" (Billy Boy Bryant, Russell Hays, and Brent Duhon), Mike Reuther, John Hains, Eric Holle, Johnny Walker
  13. Some of that is true but we did have practices at SMU. Forrest Greg came out to watch a few
  14. The only bowl game I was ever directly associated with was our 1991 game versus Miami. The number one lesson learned is keep focus on the task at hand. we had not been to a Cotton Bowl since the 1984 game versus Georgia. Many of the guys had the attitude “We are happy to be here” The team was more interested in things like “what color of shoes are we going to wear”. (I kid you not) and weather or not we could get an extra set of warmups instead of the traditional Stetson cowboy hat. Bowl gifts are nice but a win would have been nicer. My brother still has his Stetsons from the 1982 and 1984 Cotton Bowls. My 1991 warmups eventually wore out and ended up in the Goodwill box about ten years ago Hook’em
  15. He just needs to be faster than the dude chasing him
  16. I remember North Shore had a RB the same year Bijan was a senior. He got kicked off his team before the state championship. One school revoked his offer and he ended up at TCU. I remember him playing but never reached the level of Bijan. Bijan is a good human so there is that
  17. The nose hoop combined with blue or pink hair. NO
  18. In reference to C.J's dating red flags....no chicks with butterfly tats on her elbow, no girls who film themselves working out at the gym, etc,, What were some of the "Red Flags" when it comes to recruits? For me, it is the guys who spend too much time promoting themselves on social media. As much as I was excited about the possibility of getting Evan Stewart a few years ago, it didn't take me long to tire of his constant self-promotion. IF you are great, others will promote you. Another huge red flag for me would be a guy who already has a criminal record in high school. I think Texas does a great job of vetting these types but other programs seem to attract them....Georgia. For the record, we should stay away from recruits with butterfly tattoos on their elbow. I side with CJ on this.
  19. Allah Akbar!
  20. His dad was a high school teammate of Priest Holmes
