    His blocking ability would be a plus to the Texas staff. My only question is whether he has elite burst. Otherwise, he feels duplicative of Mosley.

    I really wanted him last year, but we saw what happened when we relied on backs coming off major injuries this year. Maybe he’d be a good lottery ticket with high upside that you take a flyer on, but we need to go big game hunting for a starting back.

    @CJ Vogel do you anticipate Spence playing LB at all next year? I know they like him at edge, but he was so good at Arkansas at LB. Seems like he could fill at least part of the void left by Hill.

    I almost would have preferred to see ND over Bama. There is no world in which Bama deserved to be in over Texas. By almost any possible metric, Texas is the better and more deserving team.

    If we’re being real, the way Georgia is playing right now they probably stomp this version of Ohio State.

    If the committee really cared about criteria it claims to care about, they’d note that Bama looked terrible down the stretch. They lost at home to OU, barely beat a horrible Auburn team, and got destroyed by Georgia. Meanwhile, we stomped Arkie and A&M. Who passed the eye test down the stretch? Who finished stronger?

    You’re missing the point. Once CJ Mateer’s man crush turned out to be a fraud, he’s been looking for a new fanboy target. You should see his night stand: it has seven different picture frames for each of Tech’s front seven.

    The reporting suggests that Texas BMDs remain squeamish about paying players. They want their names on buildings and love to ride the wave of Texas football success, but they have not fully adjusted to the new NIL reality. Until that changes, it will be hard to keep up with Oregon and Tech.

    Assuming Georgia continues to roll against Bama, they would have ZERO argument against us. They would have a worse loss (FSU), they would have also been blown out by UGA, and most importantly they would have lost to a team (OU) that we humiliated. There would be zero rationale for Bama over Texas. And yet the CFP will find a way.
