  1. Im trying to become an old fashioned guy. It's been a work in progress.
  2. EDGE - Kyle Kennard, Bradyn Swinson DTs – Deone Walker, Walter Nolen LB – Whit Weeks, Anthony Hill Jr.
  3. I don't think I have any gripes with consistent playcalling. I would have loved to see a deep shot or two called from midfield on 2nd & 1 or 3rd & 1 at midfield against Vandy to start the 4Q.
  4. He has definitely helped his case with the play this year by the secondary. Biggest part for me is no true busts in coverage this year, it's been great.
  5. If they lose to Maine lol, then yeah he is gone. A bowl game is on the table, I bet he is safe regardless for this year at least.
  6. Miami wins. Duke offensively is still not good. Upset would be great.
  7. Helped – Gunnar Helm, Vernon Broughton, Andrew Mukuba Hurt – Ewers, Niblack
  8. Right now, I wouldn't be surprised if A&M won that game. We will see if Texas can get the rhythm back offensively. 24–23 either way
  9. At this point. Probably not. That was is all but shipped up for Eugene.
  10. I doubt it. Not in the cards this year.
  11. I’ve wondered this too. Quinn certainly has trust in Helm with how much he goes to him in the pass game. I don’t know if it’s Sarkisian waiting for the right call to make those deep crossers but it certainly isn’t as prevalent in the offense as last year. The offense would greatly benefit from that intermediate attack to the TE’s and Quinn is great at those throws. It’s been a question for me.
  12. He suffered a cut to his face in practice which I learned is actually closer to his eye. I dont think you will see him much in the regular season. But that was to be expected anyways.
  13. I like Clemson to win the ACC, Miami has played with fire just about every single week this year. Sell. That's interesting. The strength of schedule conversation for Texas is overblown. Look. The A&M schedule is easier than Texas' and there has yet to be a peep about it nationally. Until Vanderbilt, Texas has played and beaten its bad teams like a good team should be. That's the argument to rock with, No scares, no upset alerts. Texas has taken care of business.
  14. All of those pieces can find an even higher ceiling if the run game comes alive as well. Ewers took a couple shots deep vs. Vandy, but they were able to sit back deep thanks to the lack of a run game threat. That's why you see the ADOT conversation running rampant. These are all good, positive plays. These four specifically in the 1Q combined for 71 yards.
  15. For the most part, the reason I hold onto optimism still is the issues have been correctable, right? Miscommunications on a slide from Conner-Majors. Helm and Banks getting mixed up on an edge rusher that results in a 3-yard loss for Blue. Running backs not fitting where they need to which results in a sack on 3rd down against Vandy and a fumble against UGA. Texas isn't losing the one on one's all that often when they are in a correct position which is encouraging. But of course, you would think the mental busts would be a one-time thing after a whipping like we saw vs. UGA. So we will see. But that's where I stand at the moment.
  16. Rod Babers called it out in the week leading up, Texas could take advantage of the LB in the middle of the field and they did for the TD to Blue on the Texas route. Maybe it would have helped with momentum. Texas would have needed much more than that, but that was a huge drop that in hindsight was a very brutal missed opportunity.
  17. Kevin Wynn feels the likeliest imo. Probably the only one I would put at Likely at the moment. The others aren't dead, but quite unlikely.
  18. I am not exactly sure what his deal is this year. He is at four games currently, so his next snap would burn a redshirt opportunity. I loved the deep crosser to him and hoped to see that all season.
  19. I feel like I am in the minority with Ewers. I think his leash is still pretty long. This is his job and Sarkisian will do whatever he can to ensure he gets to the finish line with Ewers under center. With that said, this is also a team that is very-well suited to win or compete for a National Championship. If a change is necessary,Sarkisian will make it. But Ewers looked much better against Vandy than we saw vs. Georgia.
  20. ATH Jalen Lott – incredible athlete and could be effective at either side of the ball OT John Turntine – bonafide 5-star tackle OL Toa Katoa – moves so incredibly well for someone 360+ pounds
  21. I kind of buy it. Not to mention, the entire offseason, everything that we have talked about and opponents have heard was about the speed of the Texas offense. If you know you won't get beat on the ground, you can sit defenders back deep and play a style of defense that forces short throws and checkdowns while knowing you won't get beat on the ground. It has to change for Texas.
  22. Love it. Offensively, 3rd down conversion %. Can Texas extend drives and get into positions to score? They have been great this year, with the exception of the Georgia game, and currently rank 18th in the country at 46.7% and that is with a 2/15 performance against Georgia in the mix. Against everyone else, they have been elite. Defensively, points per possession allowed. Texas is 2nd in the country right now, allowing 1.01 points per possession they face defensively. On Medium (60+ yards) and Long field (80+) yards, Texas is the No. 1 defense in the country. On short fields, 60 yards or less, Texas defensively ranked 35th in the country.
  23. Will keep this running until 2:00 or so.
  24. Let's go! Over the next hour+ I wanted to get some of your questions answered that we have yet to get to on livestreams or the chat previously. Bring all of your questions, comments and concerns regarding the 2024 team, recruiting to finish out the cycle and the outlook of the SEC for the remainder of the season. Will hopefully be able to get to every single question in the chat.
  25. Was my favorite Longhorn growing up
