  1. Hill on taking a day to day approach: “We have to go win week one before we can look ahead to winning week 16.”
  2. On how the defense has changed: Hill says they’ve been doing a good job of tweaking what’s been needed to fit personnel. But shouldn’t be too different from a year ago.
  3. Hill says Arch has done a great job of extending plays with his legs and finding receivers down field.
  4. Xavier Filsaime and Graceson Littleton were mentioned by Anthony Hill Jr. as youngsters really stepping up.
  5. Anthony Hill Jr to start
  6. A handful of players will be meeting with the local media inside of Moncrief this morning. Texas is wrapping up on the practice field shortly and we will have updates below. 11 days away from Ohio State!
  7. Huge bummer for Quentin. Grew up and played at Manor, was an awesome talent a few years ago.Really unfortunate to see.
  8. Yes, I think that is exactly what it is. Allow your best 5-7 to stay on the field as long as you can regardless of who is injured. Texas did this exactly when Jake Majors and Cam Williams went down against Clemson. Hayden Conner moved in to center, Cole Hutson came in at left guard and Trevor Goosby was plugged in at right tackle. Texas can do exactly that if faced with injuries during the season now.
  9. Manufacturing depth isn't a bad thing. That's what this is.
  10. Sark on Umeozulu today: “When you’ve got a good fastball, you’ve got to throw a good fastball. His calling card is the physicality and the intensity with which he plays the game.”
  11. Texas LT Trevor Goosby will be sidelined for a practice or two more according to head coach Steve Sarkisian Monday morning. Again, Goosby is not expected to miss much time and it is likely he returns before the week concludes. However, when Goosby went down Saturday during the scrimmage, it was third-year lineman Jaydon Chatman who entered the starting lineup at left tackle. Today, I am told there was some movement on the first team offensive line which aligns with a theory I had earlier this month in regards to Neto Umeozulu and his versatility. The Longhorns bumped Umeozulu out to left tackle, Cole Hutson out to left guard and plugged Connor Robertson into the lineup at center according to a source. We have heard often about the cross-training ability of many offensive linemen currently in Kyle Floods' room, and this further builds on that topic with another veteran getting snaps at tackle.
  12. RB Quintrevion Wisner and DB Jelani McDonald practiced fully today. LT Trevor Goosby will be held out the next day or two out of caution, but “will be fine,” per Sark.
  13. Sark says he’s looking Patriots Matt Patricia, Lions Matt Patricia and all of what Ohio State did a year ago. Mentions Patricia is really the only new face the room.
  14. Sarkisian says he is “super pumped” for Xavier Filsaime, and the strides he has taken this year.
  15. Sarkisian was asked who he is proud of from a year ago for who has put in the work this offseason. Connor Stroh has put in a lot of work and changed his body. Spencer Shannon and Jordan Washington Parker Livingstone “can’t say enough about what he’s done.” Tyanthony Smith and Alex January and Wardell Mack
  16. On Christian Clark: Medicine and science have come a long for this guy to be moving with the explosiveness that he is. Sark says he is impressed everyday by watching him n drills and practice.
  17. Presnap was much better Saturday per Sark. Sark says the next step is to incorporate more crowd noise. Over the next two weeks, it will be ramped up.
  18. Sarkisian says TyAnthony Smith, Anthony Hill and Jelani McDonald are all very good tacklers. Sark expands on Smith saying he plays with elite speed and physicality despite not being one of the biggest guys
  19. Sarkisian says Neto is at his best when he’s playing with a high level of physicality. “When you have a good fastball, you’re going to throw your fastball.” Says Umeozulu’s fastball is his physicality
  20. On the iDL: “ a lot of guys are doing a good job.” Sark says Texas has seen flashes out of Travis Shaw, but looking for more consistency. Trying to ramp things up for Lavon Johnson as the season nears.
  21. Sarkisian says he misspoke on Saturday after the scrimmage: it was Hero Kanu who blocked Matthew Caldwell led the two minute drill with the first team unit that resulted in a field goal Santana Wilson picked off Trey Owens as well.
