  1. I don't think Texas speed is the problem, its getting guys the ball on time in stride so they can make a play after the catch to utilize it. Arch inaccuracy many times cost playmakers their ability to run in space. I cant recall one player getting a ball in stride to run after the catch in space. Wingo and Livingstone can fly and Endries showed good speed and burst on his sideline downfield grab. Deandre Moore has good wheels also. Its more the lack of utilization of speed in week 1 that was concerning. If they were dropping in cover 3 zones I wouldn't have been against a few more reverses for Wingo or screens. However, even the screen pass from Arch was a skipping rock unfortunately.
  2. While I agree some was vanilla and basic, its tough for a play caller to find a great rhythm if his QB is out of sync too. Some big opportunities missed by Arch on solid play calls from Sark where the entire first half they had no rhythm. Then some absolute dud calls in the red. Frustrating from both but hoping this is their worst game of the year. Flush it.
  3. Saban was definitely pissed when the Dolphins signed Daunte Culpepper over Drew Brees. He might have stayed in the NFL had they not botched that deal.
  4. Kanu and Shaw played well. Glad to have lots of capable bodies on the interior. January, Brevard, Watson all looked solid. Defense wins championships.
  5. Its good this type of game happened in week 1 if it were to happen at all. A slice of humble pie to draw attention to the areas that need adjustments and improvements on top of the many positives that are easy to overlook when in the line of fire. I expect more leaders to step up and find a voice when dealing with conflict and for the team to rally and forge their own identity moving forward. There is a lot to learn from yesterday's battle but the sky is still the limit for this 2025 team.
  6. Four failed fourth downs and only one score for the pre season #1 team is at least an offensive face plant imo.
  7. Wake me up when sec play starts. Hearing more hype train as Simmons gets three sacks on san Jose state doesn't excite me until they can win big games as well.
  8. Spencer Shannon #83 bare ass. Brutal QB play.
  9. Well written as always Jeff, love your articles. Travis Shaw was a pleasant surprise today. Bill Norton was undervalued but was a big piece lost from last season. It seems Shaw may be able to fill that role which was a question mark heading into today's game.
  10. Locked onto his receivers prior to every throw. Didn't seem to have timing or understanding of what would be available. Left a lot of guys open over the middle.
  11. Multiple penalties and botched blitz pickup on fourth.
  12. Brock Berlin esque. Brutal.
  13. He kept trying to loosen his shoulders it seemed throughout the game like he was uncomfortable. Might be a tick for nerves but seemed to change arm slot with some misses on shorter/intermediate throws that didn't have conviction. I hope he steps into the ball and drives it into his target with confidence as he progresses.
  14. Makes me wonder if arch doesn't identify defensive coverages pre snap. Poor decision making and even worse throws.
  15. Any thoughts on Archs mechanics today? Imo some poor traits like raiola. Concerning.
  16. Pound on scum for a month and get the stats up
  17. My two favorite CJs. Glad to see him healthy, his blitz pickup was huge.
  18. They are so unsure of their identity in the red zone. That area is when the great Vince Lombardi would say they know what we're running but we will out execute them and he'd stick to his bread and butter. Sark seemingly rushes into stuff that is obvious.
  19. They were ranked #1 by their peers and the consensus. Its like Sark rolled out vanilla and doesn't really care. Investigate him for money line mateering lol😂
  20. Just make sure that Raja Jackson is not in that line. 😂
  21. Unfortunately their work failed. It ain't rocket science, there was no exotic motion to mask their intentions. Load of quack imo.
  22. Pre determined calls that Ohio state read like a book.
  23. Hire chuck liddell to slap him silly pre game if that's what it takes to make basic reads and throws.
  24. Ask him why so vanilla offensively. Introduced motion in the fourth when they finally found a bit of success.
  25. You like rubbing salt in the wound. Classless.
