  1. It felt like he had 10+ block in the back or holding penalties that absolutely killed us on punt and kickoff returns last year. Best of luck to him but he really needs to clean that up.
  2. Great play there. What a fun game to watch despite all the bs appeals and challenges.
  3. The career stats that we're losing with these two players: Zina: 13 tackles, 2 sacks Ffrench: 1 catch for 6 yards Granted they would have better stats if they got more playing time, but we're not losing much production. They can probably get a lot more playing time elsewhere which will also help them develop. Good luck to both young men.
  4. Using Jeff's "bust rate" calculation and ignoring the most recent class given it takes at least a year for most OL to develop: 2024 Kibble (OG) - bust Cruz (C) - bust Baker (OT) - starter = 67% bust rate 2023 Chatman (OG) - bust Cojoe (OG) - bust Kirkland (OT) - bust Stroh (OT/OG) - mixed bag, started a few games but passed up by a true freshman Goosby (OT) - starter = 60-80% bust rate 2022 Campbell (OT) - NFL draft pick Banks (OT) - first round NFL pick Neto (OG) - bust Agbo (OT) - bust Hutson (OG) - starter Williams (OT) - NFL draft pick = 33% bust rate 50-57% aggregate bust rate. These HS OL classes we're taking in are also getting way too small.
  5. Incredible play by TCU to end the game.
  6. Michigan is nuts if they try to turn this into a shootout. Given the Texas opt outs Michigan is likely to try to run over us and go after our totally inexperienced LBs. The game is basically a scrimmage anyways but I'm also concerned about how our defense will hold up.
  7. It is a bit of a mystery why Flood is so good at recruiting and developing OTs but can't pick or develop interior lineman to save his life. Most OL coaches have the opposite problem.
  8. I remember watching this live at DKR. The video doesn't do justice to how smooth the 'rip and dip' move was that Kindle pulled off and then his acceleration into the QB. He looked like a heat seeking missile and the OT barely got a hand on him. Kindle was an absolute pass rushing beast and it's unfortunate that his pro career was almost nonexistent due to injury.
  9. The problem with 247 is that CBS doesn't seem to be willing to invest in retaining or developing talent. I was a subscriber there for a decade+ and finally left last year after a lot of the talent moved over to here. I tried giving 247 a chance after Rod and Jeff left but the quality and quantity of content isn't there anymore. For example, it shouldn't take them five days to publish a podcast after a game. Anyways, I feel for Chip and Matt but the site is a shadow of its former self. I hope Jeff, Rod, and Matt can reincarnate Longhorn Blitz at some point.
  10. He sure fell into a favorable situation that most coaches would kill for. It will be interesting to see if his success holds up in a revenue sharing environment.
  11. Lame just like not holding a spring game.
  12. Banks and Golden were first rounders. We weren’t going to compete with that. Ewers I could go either way on keeping. Arch is playing at a higher level than him now but perhaps we wouldn’t have dropped the Florida game with Ewers. Williams was a bit of a headcase it seems and couldn’t be talked (or money whipped) into saying because he viewed himself as a first round pick despite all advice otherwise.
  13. All four of those were going to the NFL no matter what. They either believed they would be early round picks or were not interested in returning to school (Cam W.).
  14. Saban would be 75 next season. How many years of high-level coaching do you think he has left in the tank? He's the GOAT but was smart (and humble enough) to retire at the very top.
  15. I think you’ve been watching too much of a certain “news” channel that ironically is based in NYC. They conveniently leave that part out when they’re trashing NYC and all the cities for that matter.
  16. 1. We have always given big cushions for some reason. This was true under Herman too. 2. We’re running zone and Akina is a man technique coach. 3. Makuba and Barron were huge losses and difficult to replace.
  17. Is Neto an attitude/effort issue vs. not as talented as expected? This is his fourth year in the program, I wouldn't think they would let him hang around if it was the former.
  18. What happened to Wingo? Looked like a wrist or finger injury based on how he came off the field.
  19. Watching this on skycast we leave the middle of the field open over and over...incredibly frustrating to watch
  20. We absolutely must burn clock on this drive
