Snap Judgments: Texas answers the bell by smothering No. 6 Oklahoma, 23-6
My only dislike, is that I didn't like them just throwing Brooks into the mix last week like that. If they knew he was the best option, they should've used the three G5 games to get him reps. But anyway, I digress. He at least gives us a better chance there.

I'm watching the game now, as I didn't get a chance to watch when it was live, unfortunately. Brooks seems like he is coming a long. Certainly had some whiffs early on but I think the positive runs by Wisner gave him confidence and he used that confidence to get better through out the game. If so, that bodes well going into next year but we'll see.

Jeff, once again, great article. You always sum up the after thoughts of a game pretty well - good or bad. I agree, savior this win, as a fan for 20 years now, I've seen my fair share of losses to the Sooners and also upset of the Sooners. These games are always great. Loved the effort and attitude of the boys to get it done and bounce back from last weeks showing. Penalties were down, turnovers were down and they lit the OU O up. All it took was some pressure to rattle Mateer and he seemed spooked. So happy for the boys especially because I'm certain it wasn't easy after last week and how it panned out. Looks like Bobby's predictions could play out with the 10-2 but I'm certain the boys are focused and ready to tackle Kentucky next week, after savouring the OU tears for a while.

College Football Live Thread: Week 7
Well they just scored to go up 31-17, doubt Florida is going to win they've looked pedestrian this second half.

I still can't believe Penn State is 3-3 with all that they returned from last years squad.

They look bad, I know Auburn has a legit front on D but they look terrible offensively.

Guys, how do we get Georgia to play like this against us? We play them and everything seems to go there way lol.

This season
I'm all for criticism when and where it's warranted but we just beat OU. Let's enjoy that for a while first. Especially after last weeks game.

10-0 now and Georgia offensively looks inept. South Carolina up 7-3 on LSU after a long TD run by SC.

Well it's fun either way, it's just better when we win.

College Football Live Thread: Week 7
Bro what is this weekend. Oregon and Penn State both lose. Iowa State lost to Colorado and TCU got whooped by K-State. Ole Miss barely scraps by Washington State. Florida and Texas A&M tied at 14 in the 1st qtr....

I have never been more happy to eat crow in my life. Can't wait to watch the replay, wasn't able to catch it live, I was exhausted and didn't manage to get up at 6:30am to catch it.

Rockwall Heath beats North Forney in OT
Man, they almost blew that one lol. Had a good lead and North Forney came storming back.

Updated SEC injury report for Texas-OU (Saturday, 1:05 p.m.)
Just putting being a fan aside, I'd not play Mateer this quick after surgery. You're not only risking the young man's future but putting him in means you don't trust your team can beat Texas without him, which is kinda crazy lol.

Question for Gerry
Interesting look at this kid, who's committed to Penn State apparently. Is Stan Drayton was his recruiter. Didn't realize Coach Drayton was at Penn State. Would've loved to get him back at Texas, but glad he landed on his feet.

Should the Heisman Trophy be Awarded After the Regular Season or After the Postseason?
I'd love for it to not 99.99% of the time be a glorified QB award. But post season is fine by me.

To heck with work what are your OU sucks plans?
I'm hoping that I can get up early for the game. As it's on pretty early here in Australia. It should be about 6:30am for me.

Didn't he do this last week? He dressed up, warmed up with the team and then didn't play?

I can't see this offense getting fixed in a week and OU has a great defense, at least on paper. With our OL issues and lack of running game, plus too much pushing it down field (hence holding the ball longer), I'm going to pick against Texas (which I already hate). OU 17 - Texas 10 I really hope I'm wrong and that everyone else who picked OU, I'd rather be wrong than right on this one lol.

Kyle Flood has got to go
I'm sorry, but why do fans like you always try to gate keep what the rest of us can or can't say? We're casual fans because we criticize something and want to talk about it on a forum for Texas fans? We're allowed to share different opinions on things regarding the team without suggesting that people are band wagon fans or "casuals" lol.

Kyle Flood has got to go
This is by and far a terrible reason to excuse his overall showing on the OL. This isn't just a this year issue. Suggesting that because he put Kelvin Banks into the league in the 1st round, that it excuses all the bad. Don't get me wrong, guys like Herb Hand before him were terrible. That is a given. Doesn't mean Flood's position group should be excused for what has been a multi year problem.
