  1. Any change to the compensation and playoff format requires a unanimous vote from the former "Power 5." They can block a vote to change the automatic bids to the CFP unless they get a full share of the money, which is what they're doing. Yes, there is money at play for them. Bottom line is the SEC and Big 10 can blow them up by simply leaving, which is what they should do. If they want to play hardball, then you should play real hardball, kind of like Michael Corleone in "The Godfather."
  2. Washington State and Oregon State are trying to maintain their status as a "power" conference with an automatic bid to the CFP. This is clear evidence that the NCAA can't work much longer. They're willing to destroy the sport because they're mad about the break-up of the Pac 12. It seems there is little choice for the SEC and Big 10 but to disassociate from the goobers and play a real sport.
  3. Seems like LSU football has had a run of bad legal news lately. Getting close to OU circa 1989.
  4. If it comes down to Williams choosing Oklahoma because Venables is lying to him by telling him he will play safety, then I say good riddance. If you're that stupid, you need to be at Zero U. Won't matter to us anyway if he thinks he's a safety.
  5. I know Gerry and Bobby said they think Notre Dame will be good, but I still think there's now way they finish in the top ten. You can't tell me Notre Dame is better than Ole Miss, Alabama or LSU unless you're a fighting Irish homer. I'd bet 100K that all three of the teams I listed are better than Notre Dame.
  6. Yeah, he seems like the kind of guy you like to have on your team.
  7. I must admit that hearing how some high school peckerwood is "in discussions" on whether he'll take an "official" visit leaves me cold. Far as I'm concerned, I don't care. I know that's not where the recruiting world is at, but it sure does make you long for the days when wannabes couldn't dictate millions of dollars. It's our fault for spending the money that creates the situation in the first place. I personally don't, but I'm not the whole.
  8. 1) OU 2) Georgia 3) A&M 4) Michigan I personally dislike OU much more than I dislike A&M. The Aggies don't really ever win anything, so it's like listening to a person who knows nothing about economics talk about the economy. Having said that, it's not that OU fans are truly knowledgeable. What's truly annoying about them is that it's Oklahoma. They wouldn't even be able to play nationally competitive college football without the state of Texas. They are literally dependent on the state of Texas for everything, and yet they think they have something to offer. It's like Europeans whining to the US about military defense. How about you get your own military?
  9. It's worth noting here that Bond and Niblack transferred to Texas because Milroe didn't have the ability to get them the ball much. They think Ewers can get them the ball. It may be true that DeBoer can adapt well, but it's also true that his offense has looked quite similar wherever he's been, and that's always been based on a QB that reads defenses well and throws the ball accurately all over the field. If Milroe is the starter next season, I think Bama is looking at eight wins, plus or minus one. If DeBoer can get a QB that can do what DeBoer has shown he likes to do, Bama is probably at ten wins, plus or minus one. Heisman voting can't really be taken too seriously.
  10. I know he wants to play safety. Looking at it, I just don't see how it could work. He doesn't have the body type or athletic qualities to cover twitchy receivers. Am I missing something? Bobby, do you, Gerry or CJ think Williams could be a safety?
  11. As an east Texas guy myself, I would like to see Sark cut off the Sooner pipeline into east Texas. Now that NIL allows everyone to legally pay, it seems like it shouldn't be too difficult to take out the criminal interlopers from north of the Red River. I watched a SoonerScoop podcast wherein they discussed Jonah Williams' recruitment and "maybe letting him try the safety position." No one who knows anything about football thinks that kid will be able to play safety in high level college football. Is Venables dense enough to think it's good practice to blatantly lie to recruits? It's certainly not a recipe for long term success.
  12. Ole Miss just because of Kiffin. Watching him shrug, complain, and send out lame tweets is very annoying.
