I'd first check the WCWS app or fan experience schedule to see if there's availability. Then try UT sports media. The coaches could have them around the stadium to watch a game tomorrow around their practice schedule. They could also have 15 or 20 minutes for fans before practice.

How do you feel about Texas being able to close?

Question for all, My girls were not able to get any autographs from the Texas team before or after the games yesterday. We are staying across the street from where they are staying (I’m not going to name the spot) and I was thinking about trying to go over there for breakfast or something and “run into them” if we get lucky. Before I do that, I wanted to run it by the board and make sure that’s not a bad look. They aren’t playing tomorrow and obviously there’s a chance we don’t run into any of them but if so I don’t want to be THAT guy. My girls are just massively excited about being in OKC and just want to get some stuff signed if possible.

You’re mixing up what Sark said with what Tech heard. ‘Our 2s and 3s can or can't beat their schedule isn’t trash talk - it’s a comparison of schedules. Tech turned it into a personal insult because they knew exactly who fit the description. Ohio State doesn’t get judged against Toledo for a playoff spot. Bama doesn’t get judged against UAB. Coke doesn’t get judged against RC Cola. Texas does get judged against teams with softer schedules. That’s the entire point Sark was making. This wasn’t about elevating Tech - they elevated themselves by sprinting into a conversation that wasn’t about them. Sark was talking about metrics, not programs. If Tech wants to feel ‘acknowledged,’ that’s cute. But Texas didn’t punch down. Tech just jumped up and yelled ‘he’s talking about us!’ before anyone else did.

Gainesville, Ga. – For the eighth year in a row, No. 3 Texas Rowing advanced all three boats to the NCAA Championships 'A' Finals after completing both the opening round and semifinals on Friday at Lake Lanier in Gainesville, Ga. Due to forecasted inclement weather on Saturday, the semifinals had been moved to Friday afternoon. The Longhorns won all three of their first-round heats in the morning, then all three of their semifinal heats in the afternoon to advance. Texas' I Eight and II Eight both posted the best times in both the first-round heats and semifinals en route to the Grand Finals. All three boats will compete for an NCAA Championship in Sunday's Grand Finals. Texas is one of four programs to send all boats to the 'A' Finals this year, joining Stanford, Virginia and Tennessee. "We packed two days into one today, and I'm really glad with how things worked out," head coach Dave O'Neill said. "The change in schedule wasn't too big of a deal for us since we're used to doing two hard efforts in one day, especially on a Friday, so I think things might have worked to our advantage. Getting all boats into the A final is a really big deal. While we have done that the last few years, we never take it for granted." With a 6:30 a.m. CT start, the First Varsity Eight punched its ticket into the 'A' Final by winning heat 2 with a time of 5:57.958, which was the best overall time in all heats. Later in the day in Semifinal 1, Texas again registered the top overall time, clocking a 5:59.571. "Our first eight was absolutely terrific today," O'Neill said. "Going just under 6:58 in the morning and then going 6:59 in the afternoon is pretty good. Of course, Stanford is right there with us, so Sunday is going to a phenomenal race. We'll be ready." The II Eight was off next in the morning, and just like the Varsity Eight, won both heat 2 and registered the best overall time of the round in 6:03.351. The Longhorns then repeated the feat in Semifinal 2 by posting 6:06.910. Next up in each round, the I Four captured heat 2 in 6:44.878 before winning Semifinal 1 in 6:52.913. Both times were second-best overall, trailing only Stanford. Texas is set to compete in Sunday's Grand Finals in pursuit of its fourth NCAA title over the last six years, beginning with the I Four at 9:36 a.m. ET/8:36 a.m. CT. The II Eight will race at 10 a.m. ET/9 a.m. CT and the I Eight will close out the national regatta at 10:24 a.m. ET/9:24 a.m. CT. "We'll take it easy tomorrow," O'Neill said. "Having a day off during NCAAs will be quite different, but we'll make the most of it. We're looking forward to what's ahead in Sunday morning." Very well written Jeff. The whole thing is tiresome man. However I have to say that if you're in Tech position, you've played your cards pretty perfectly on this one. Clearly the goal was to paint Texas as a villain. The goal was to do all the things that you said. The more I think about it, I can't blame them for responding the way they are. In some ways it's working out in their favor perfectly — media buzz. I kind of felt the same way about the criticisms thrown at tech, at their desperation to be relevant. Of course..what college football program doesn't want to be relevant? What program doesn't want to take advantage of all possible avenues to try to be more relevant, especially if they’re not a blue blood?

As long as Texas wins tomorrow. I don’t think they throw him against him against Holy Cross and save him again.

Jeff, you’re on the heater today! I was at the game and a couple things struck me. Anthony pack has ice in his veins but this is a game that should never have been played. This wasn’t a game. It was batting practice. Holy Cross has no business being in the NCAA tournament. They are that bad! There’s a reason that every Texas starter had a hit and some people who weren’t starters had hits, including a grand slam. It’s another example of NCAA being a feckless and misguided organization, that rewards conference tournament champions, regardless of how bad they are. Let’s face it. The Crusaders have a losing record for a reason. They’re one of the worst teams Texas has played all year - frankly, not even good enough to schedule for a midweek game. I’m a season ticket holder and I see all the games at home. I was apologizing to Crusader fans for running up the score when it was 16 to nothing in what should have been a run-rule game, but the NCAA doesn’t allow that in “their”!tournament. It was embarrassing for everyone. The fans of both teams were ready for the game to be over. Then there was more Tom foolery. The NCAA required Texas to cover up the national championship banner over the visitor’s bullpen and forbade Texas from playing the Eye of Texas (which we all sang anyway). I guess they’re afraid of acknowledging there is such a thing as a home-field advantage and want to make everybody feel welcome. As Bobby Burton likes to say the NCAA is twiddling its thumbs while Rome burns. We have unbridled free agency, unlicensed agents running the show, unenforced rules, and coaches quitting while their teams are in the playoffs, and the list goes on…… meanwhile the NCAA is focused on making sure that tiny colleges get a participation ribbon. Time to end the madness, and break from the NCAA.
