HDub1995 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago (edited) G5 has no business being in the playoff. I’m sorry, but they are not on same level. Has to change. Edited 4 hours ago by HDub1995 1 Quote

I thought once a player steps out of biunds they cant he the first player to touch the ball The above reproach official deemed he was pushed out. Even though they did not show much of a push. I request you look back in memory banks to 2021 OU when our defense came out. They converted 3rd down on such a play. Jacoby jones got hurt that drive then a TD. It was bs. Quote

A lot of talking heads today pushing for head to head compare since teams are right next to each other in ranking. I would guess bama stays in, although they don’t deserve based upon their play over the 2nd half of season. Quote
Waxahorn Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago With the Arkansas AD heading the committee you had to know that Texas has little to no chance. 1 Quote
Alex Butler Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Kirby Smart shouted out Texas as one of the best teams deserving a chance on SEC football final. Another advocate for us. Let’s stop this charade with G5 teams and put Texas and Miami in and let’s do this thing right. Quote
Kevin C Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago (edited) This is completely asinine that puts JMU and Tulane into "The Best 12 Teams in College Football" Playoff and that system likely keeps Bama in the Top 10 even though they got completely throttled today by Georgia and lost 3 games this season as well. Fewer 'Top 15' wins. Weaker SOS / SOR. Hoping this year has created enough bizarre outcomes that major improvements are made to the format. Increase to 24 teams. Make sure the systems is set up to truly put the best 24 into the playoff. Enough with 'giving guaranteed spots' to G5 schools. If they're in the Top 24, they are in. If not, go create a G5 Playoff System, similar to the NIT in basketball. Texas lost to 2 of the 4 best schools in Football and beat 3 of the Best 13. What the f is the point of playing the marque game at beginning of the year with so much downside to the loss. Margin for error is virtually nada and one of the top 5 schools head to head is going to lose and have an L in week 1 next season again. Edited 3 hours ago by Kevin C 1 Quote

Here for the Wins Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago As a season ticket holder, 24 teams is terrible. You’ll still have the same issues anyway. You haven’t heard the seeding complaints yet. Why does such and such get the 11 seed or 12 seed to play. Thats a massive benefit. Quote
Kevin C Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago 3 minutes ago, Alex Butler said: Preach! We just got home from watching our Mavs throttle the Rockets tonight. It was beautiful. The team was actually fun to watch. Lots of length and quickness. Think I'm fired up tonight because the new 'system' just doesn't make any sense. Notre Dame played 3 teams in the Top 25 and lost to 2 of the three teams with an overall SOS ranked 42nd and a lower SOR than Texas (according to ESPN). One of ND's losses was to A&M, whom we just kicked the living s$%& in the second half. Notre Dame has beaten NOBODY except one ranked opponent (USC at 16). Texas has 3 wins against Top 13. Similar story for Miami. Their one big win was Notre Dame (that's another head scratcher). How is ND with two losses and an unimpressive schedule ranked above Miami who they lost to head to head? As much as they stated SOS, SOR, Quality Wins all were going to mean more this year, it's BS. Their ranking system doesn't seem to have changed. It focused first and foremost on record. the undefeated and 1-loss teams are all virtually guaranteed a spot. A 3-loss team has very little chance, regardless of who the losses are to or who that team beat beyond the three losses. Valuable lesson learned this season. Set your team up for success with momentum in September while your'e getting into your rhythm. Take no risks. The revenue from making the playoffs is way too valuable to risk unnecessarily. Then add to all this, that we're adding a 9th game in the SEC next season. Nuts. 1 Quote

Definitely not following the logic and linkage between being a season ticket holder and 24 teams. Two rounds of playoffs at home campus locations (17-24 all play at 9-16 in week 1 then winners play at home fields of 1-8 in week 2). You'd rather only have one round of games at college campuses? Not me. I'd prefer first two rounds on campus, setting the stage for quarter finales in major bowls. JMHO. Quote
AusMOJO Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I was surprised Indiana beat Ohio State, seems like we'll get bumped to being their 2nd toughest game now. Georgia sweeped the floor with Bama, BYU is terrible, the ACC is dogsh*t and it looks like two G5 teams might be getting in lol. Quote

There’s a massive difference between hey we’re in but not playing a home game versus hey, we’re clearly one of the best 12 teams in the country but aren’t even in the playoffs because we have two sacrificial lambs that are going to be in over us and Miami. As a fellow season ticket holder I’d rather the option to purchase playoff tickets for the first 2 rounds than going to a meaningless bowl game. Quote
