Our mods have been slightly prepping this...

IF we lose Terry...That would mean we lost the offseason

No they haven't.   Also others have reported he loves Austin and being at Texas..

The sport has become more popular than ever and more teams are able to compete for championships.

Trending to a more casual fan because of greater access is not a positive in many ways for us non-casual fans.  But that’ll just take a generation or two to wipe us out.

There still is only 1 championship.  You can say Tulane and James Madison are competing, but are they really?  In all years past, the SEC and Big 10 teams were competing.  You just didn’t like how that looked.

I am not saying that they have been predicting him to transfer. I am saying that the smoke has been there, Texas is trying to keep him (obviously) but that this has been a known possibility. So if news is changing and other sites are reporting things (right or wrong) this was a THING Screenshot2025-12-10074829.png.15095baab28e83be56333be8b58f9a75.pngods had acknowledged.

“Acknowledged” is different than “prepping”for.

In this day and age, there is nothing you can be unprepared for or think is off the table. That was Gerry’s response and CJ’s, too. Nothing more.

Terry has been happy at Texas, especially the last four games of the season where his role increased. And with some departures, there is a very clear path to the field for him all of next year.

Noted. I initially used the wrong term/phrase.

This feels like pulling a fire alarm with zero signs of smoke.

"Georgia would be interested in Justus Terry if he entered the portal." Yeah, them and every other school.

Majority of college fans are casuals, so it’s not trending that way because it is that way. Posters on message boards are not the average fan base and are minority. I’d also bet that majority of Texas fans on message boards don’t really care about the sport as a whole and don’t tune into college football as much as they say they do outside of Texas and the big games which in of itself makes them a casual.

I think that applies to like 70-80% of sports fans, which is fine. Not everyone needs to be deranged like us 😂

I said trending more to a casual fan not that there aren’t many casuals as it is.  Attendance at many institutions hasn’t changed dramatically over the years.  That’s what I would consider a large population of non-casual fans.

You may be right on fans not tuning in as much as they say they do.  But my small population of known fans don’t really miss any Texas games.

To get more eyeballs on the tv, it has to be the casual fan.  Some of those become serious fans but probably smaller proportions.

Also, if you guys don’t think our staff is going to match an offer for him, you’re crazy. He’s going to be one of our most aggressive up field interior guys. We need a disruptor.

From what I know on Terry.

1. Terry has enjoyed his time in Austin.

2. The staff has major plans for Terry to be a focal point of the defensive line in 2026.

3. To this point, Terry's name has not popped up in any conversation I have had regarding transferring out.

TexAgs mods have stated that if Arch Manning enters the portal, they have a spot in their TE room for him.

After the game this year, they probably tried to pull Arch so they can have a real QB. Completely exposed Reed and that offense.
