So is Sark changing his tune about players entering the portal and once you enter, don't come back?  I thought he briefly made mention that if the offer is not what they want/expected once they enter, that give him a call back?  I thought I heard him say that before the Michigan game.

I think Williams' decision was made due to other factors--heard he did not mesh well with Akina--and not because of the NIL offer.

If Texas wants Derek to return I assume the staff thinks he has healed.  He still showed signs of being slowed by his injury this season.

The talent he flashed as a freshman was evident, of course.

@Bobby Burton I assume if Muschamp personally wants Williams back it means they think he will be fully back from his injury. Is that fair? I only ask because he didn’t play much this year and clearly looked a step slower. Not sure we’d just run it back with him if we thought it would be another Baxter situation.

In addition to what another poster already highlighted for you, he actually never entered the portal. He just made his desire to enter the portal known. But with the recent staff changes (Muschamp and Gideon) he is obviously reconsidering. So I think it’s just a unique set of circumstances.

I remember when he was first recruited, Sark said the raptor had first round potential. Looking forward to him, potentially returning to his best with us or with another team.

That's when he announced his intentions to enter the portal. At last check, he hadn't yet appeared in the portal officially.
