Todd Golden at Florida, Danny Hurley at UConn, Nate Oats at Alabama, Rick Pitino at St. John's, Chris Beard at Ole Miss, Mick Cronin at UCLA, the angry guy at Illinois, etc..

Miller is a good coach. He’s flat out called this team out multiple times. He needs to have the money to build a very good team next year. Texas does virtually nothing to market men’s basketball.

Chilllll lmao, Oats and Hurley was were not good their first year and so are alot of first year head coaches. Miller didn’t inherit a good team and we don’t have NIL money to rebuild a roster that fast in men’s Cbb. 

This team may not be good this year but it’s certainly no reason to panic, we got a true 5 star coming in and some better prospects for next year, just gotta be patient.

if we’re going to do this in football terms, just look at sark. Missed a bowl game and lost to Kansas his first year. This stuff takes time

I will say this. Miller did look at the guys that could come back and said okay. I don’t know if that was for financial reasons though.

If we don’t have the money Miller would have never come here. And if they are saying we changed our mind, then Miller is gone. I have not heard one report of Miller complaining about funds.

Unfortunately it doesn't look like the tournament is in the cards for this team. There's too many liabilities on defense for us to be successful with the SEC schedule. I hope I'm wrong but right now Texas doesn't pass the eye test for me.

The defense is horrible and some low IQ players. How many times are they going to foul three point shooters? They have done it all year. Swain and Mark choking in free throws has cost them games.

To not at least make the top 64 teams with the resources Texas has is almost an impressive level of failure

Well duh that would just be excuse making in his first year and Miller isn’t weak. We don’t have nearly as big of a budget as you think though. Especially compared to schools who prioritize men’s basketball.

I completely agree we don’t have the budget. But don’t build a new gym and hire Miller if you are not committed.

All of those guys earned the right to get those jobs. Many recognized Golden as a future prodigy. Hurley had done wonders with Rhode Island. 

Nobody was after Sean miller. 

It’s honestly embarrassing that Texas went from sweet 16 being the bare minimum with Rick to being the 6th best program in its own state

A&M is the only other team with a first-year head coach in the sec this year. They’re 11-3 and actually look competent and will likely make the tournament. Sadly, they’re probably also going to break the streak of losing in Austin this season as  Texas will be lucky to win 3 sec games this season (they won 6 last year with a verifiably better HC)

I'll never forget there were about 2,500 fans in the Erwin Center for Kevin Durant's first game at Texas. 

KD played 15+ games before many Texas fans realized there was a future all-time great wearing the uniform.
