Coop2395 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Him high stepping to that corner is one of my favorite sports photos of all time. Hence my account photo 😂 Quote
Tuco Ramirez Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Greatest moment in college football history. 2 Quote
tfoster40 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Sadly I was 3 wish I would’ve been a little older to watch this live, became a Longhorn fan at a very young age so Colt McCoy is the first qb I remember watching at Texas so a great one but man it would’ve been sweet to watch Vince live. 1 Quote
Cisco Diaz Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago The Michael Griffin int. Or, the Michael Huff fumble recovery. Quote
Sundancekid Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago That game was pure awesomeness. So many huge plays on defense and offense. Derek Lokey with the stop on 4th and 1! 3 Quote
alrightalrightalright Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I was in 8th grade. My dad had taken me to the Rose Bowl the year before against Michigan, so I expected Vince to show out again. Watched the first half at my buddy Jordan’s house with a group of friends. Watched the second half at home, sitting on the edge of the couch in my Longhorn pajamas. Still feel that magic every time I hear, “4th and 5, the national championship on the line right here. He’s going for the cornerrrr, he’s got it!!” 3 Quote
General Grant Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I was in the opposite end zone. I was a young man then. I knew I would most likely never see anything like it again. I hugged prolly 50 complete strangers after the play. We had an early flight next morning. Basically rewatched sports center all night. Uncle I went with passed two years later. Glad he got to see it. 10 Quote
.45s Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I was lucky to have been at the Astrodome several times when they had foamers in an early inning. Foamers were when free beer was given out the rest of the night if an Astro hit a homerun on an even minute, based on a clock and orange light on the big scoreboard. You never saw fans run so fast up the stairs to get in line. 😅 Quote
Jbro52 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I was a sophomore in highschool and remember staying up to watch it and being in shock on 4th and 5 🤘🏻 Quote
Battrayal Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I remember waking everyone up in the house screaming while watching on my tube tv in my room.. "HES GOT IT" Legendary 1 Quote
Itsamystery Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I have always thought that Selvin Young’s block was never given the credit it deserves in the touchdown. As great as VY was, I am not sure he scores without that block. 3 Quote
Migas & Fajitas Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Was sitting on the opposite side end of stadium but a great view of him running into the corner of the end zone. Sat across aisle and chatted with Houston area sports anchor Randy McIlroy much of the flight home the next day. McIlroy was fired up. 2 Quote
HenryJames Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago @Joe Zura was watching VHS highlights of Joey Harrington. Sad! 1 Quote
TrouperG Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago 1 hour ago, Blake Munroe said: Let’s hear your favorite stories, memories, plays, etc from that game! On my way home from the bar where I was watching the game I got sideswiped by a drunk driver. Only problem is I had had a drink or two as well. I was a broke college student with an old 4 door honda accord and when we got out to exchange information turns out we had both been drinking and watching the game. I realized that there was some damage to my fender that I could bend out with a breaker bar to clear the tire and it was as good as new. The other driver admitted fault, but as we were both probably above the legal limit, we spent a few minutes talking about how awesome that game was, high-fived, and went home. 3 Quote
Rivalrygameblock Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I was sitting 5-ish rows from the top of the Rose Bowl with college buddies on the opposite end from where he scored. The feeling walking out of that stadium is a sports high I’ll chase the rest of my life. The crowd serenading Herbstreit after the game while he was doing SportsCenter hits for his Reggie Bush Heisman hype is still amusing. 4 Quote
Thailand T Sip Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Thanks Blake! I flew from Thailand to see the game. Best plane ticket I've ever bought! My wife thought I was nuts. Since then, we've flown over for games together. OU weekend is her favorite. Though the celebration when we joined the SEC was great for a none football game! 🤘🏼 1 Quote
Tx_Atx_Atty Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I was watching with a big group of friends that night and when we won my future husband drove me down to the drag and we celebrated in the madness. i graduated from UT that spring and the National Championship was such a special event. Lifetime Longhorn household and doing my best to pass it on to the kiddos 🤘 5 Quote
Steamboat Willie Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Sergeant pepper taught the band to play !!! That was an incredible night and one of if not the best game I have ever witnessed. 1 Quote
Paul L Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago (edited) I was in the Air Force and had just flown back to England after spending Christmas with family. We got to our house and found out our heating was broken so we rented a room on base and I stayed up and watched the game. I was on cloud 9. Edited 21 hours ago by Paul L Typo 3 Quote
SB21 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I am born and raised Texan. My wife is from LA and of course that meant this had a friendly sh!t talking vibe the whole lead up and during the game. she kept telling me “no point in watching it since Texas was gonna lose” the look on her face when VY ran to that end zone was priceless 🤣🤘 my kids were in diapers and looked at me like I was crazy screaming at the tv but it’s a memory I’ll never forget. 2 Quote
texaz Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago (edited) Was in college at the time and watched it with my family. My roommate was a USC fan and when I got back to campus, I entered our dorm room singing the eyes of Texas with a hookem horns sign up! 😂 Edited 21 hours ago by texaz 2 Quote
