Boojie Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago With the NFL season coming to an end, Sark name continues to come up as a great hire for NFL teams. With his experience and knowledge of the league it isn't far-fetched to assume that he has to have some interest in going to the NFL level. With Arch set to go the NFL next year Sark clearly depending on what team he goes to can draft him. Did he hire Will Muschamp as his replacement? Knowing the history of Muschamp at Texas he would easily get the head coach job over anyone else. Blake Gideon coming back will be the DC is leaving everything still on track to have a well-oiled machine moving forward. Offensive Coordinators will jump at the opportunity to get to Texas with the resources and talent the team has. Just thinking for the future. Hook Em 3 17 3 Quote

mmdaytontexas Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I seriously doubt that. Will has been a great D-Coordinator in the past, but not so much as a head coach.I could see Sark bolting for the NFL, however. Coaching in college these days must seem l like a nightmare with all the things and people you have to keep up with. 1 Quote

Red Five Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I'd like to hear more about the part where Sark fired PK so that he could hire his successor as DC, because that's how that works. 1 Quote
FootLaw Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Okay, I'll bite on the conversation. In all honesty, I do not believe Sark is leaving in the near term. Could hop to the pros after a couple of championships but he also loves college ball. I also do not believe Muschamp wants to be a P4 HC in the short-term future. That experiment failed and he knows he's an elite DC (that can make good money w/ focused responsibility). What I could see happening is Muschamp being here for a stint while grooming Gideon into the next DC here. Not opposed to that being the case. Gideon is a smart dude and Sark likes him. Quote

Thorn007 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago (edited) Maybe . I can see Steve leaving after next year for the pros. It's obvious he hates the playoff system , nil , portal . And I wouldn't blame him . Seems irritated this year. He also has a baby now. No time whatsoever with high school recruiting also flying around the country. Miami sark or cowboy sark yeehaw. Timberman Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Boojie was just asking a question. He was sharing his thoughts and he immediately got flogged. Nobody knows what’s going to happen with this team or college football from day to day. I don’t think there are stupid questions any more. Anything can happen…. 3 Quote

SimGent Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago If you start with the belief that Sark wants to return to the NFL eventually then I can understand how the pieces kind of fall together. Yes, Will was once the HCIW and yes Gideon did take a demotion to come back. But you have to remember that Will was HCIW for an entirely different coach in an entirely different time in CFB under an entirely different AD and was given that "title" just to keep him from leaving for a year. We also have no idea what Blake's role is going to be here. Sark may want to go to the NFL, he may not. He's said he's not going anywhere, but the only constant is things change. However should CDC also still be here if Sark ever decides to leave, CDC's got enough of a track record in my eyes that he'll make the right hire, regardless if that's Will or someone else. 2 Quote
Bobby Burton Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago I have no clue what the far-reaching future holds. None of us do. But Sark is locked and loaded for 2026. Anything beyond that, for any coach anywhere, is just wishcasting. Anyone think James Franklin would be coaching Virginia Tech in 2026? Or Kyle Whittingham coaching Michigan in 2026? Or, the list goes on... Sark has set this up to have a long run. I think that's all anyone can say with certainty. 6 1 Quote

Thisrowyellssorry Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I don’t buy this angle simply because Muschamp has underwhelmed as a head coach, and I think our fanbase would sniff that out and lose it. But it’s ok to feel nervous about Sark, none of us really see his long term ambitions. Quote
