2026 is set to be the year, and UT’s football program is objectively getting it’s teeth kicked in in the portal despite knowing from about game 2 that we’d have to win the day there to make 2026 dreams possible. So people are pissed. And they would be if this board was dedicated to any blue blood experiencing this level of failure.  

A quick jaunt over to Alabama’s, FSU’s, Clemson’s or pick your struggling P4 program will look virtually the same. And they’ll think they’re a special fan base there too. 

I am extremely disappointed. However, one of the things I like about OTF is when they talk about the process of a potential recruit. They will tell you how they got here or how they ended up with another school. Then it’s an objective look at who did come, followed by, is this enough? I do believe they will be honest. However, it still won’t be enough to satisfy everyone. A simple choice of words has led us to this. “All in”. That is why people are pissed. It’s really that simple.

Agree with you, but - the only thing that I can say is this:  the mods on this site, and @Bobby Burton specifically, are diligent about keeping things here on an even keel.  The main issue this week is the NIL/Portal.  It is a new, unique experience, and we all are getting used to the ebb and flow of college athletics.  

By this time next year, equilibrium will have kicked in, and things will be more stable.  Just my humble opinion.  P

My youngest child was born in the last year the Dallas Cowboys won the Super Bowl. She graduated from UT in '17 and will be 31 this year.

I grew up in the 1960s and was a big Cowboys fan. My father took me to see them play the Browns in the Cotton Bowl Stadium and Bob Lilly and Jim Brown got tossed for fighting that day.

As a high school senior, I saved from working after school and summer jobs and went to SBVI in NOLA. Cowboys 24 Dolphins 6. End zone ticket cost me $55.

When the Cowboys were a total No-Show at home against Green Bay in the playoffs...I declared the end of my Dallas Cowboys fandom.

I haven't watched a single snap since and from what I can gather, I haven't missed anything.

But I started with the Longhorns in 1968, graduated in '76 and '78 and I will never leave Horns.

I’m somewhere in the middle. I’m not a Pollyanna but I don’t think the sky is falling either. I do find it funny when others complain about negative posters when they are complaining themselves in just a different fashion.

Almost all fan bases are the same. I am retired and listen to Finebaum a good bit. They go nuts when things are not going well. Bama fans not used to losing go on suicide watch. Another thing I have learned. they all don't like us. Pretty sure I get on the bashers nerves. Always have a tendency to back our coaches and players. Especially when we are winning as many games as we are.
