Indiana fan here, I've watched your board over the past week for Brunner news.  I've also watched UT stack outstanding recruiting classes year-over-year.  In a sea of neurotic posts, PaulieD's post was one of the few that resonated with the vibe of Indiana's recruiting forums.  I've got to ask a few questions:

1) Do you have no confidence in your coaching staff and the OL underclassmen UT has recruited over the past several years?

2) Is the problem UT recruits well but sucks at player development?

Prior to Brunner's IU visit, "insiders" mentioned he was ours to lose.  Brunner visited Indiana over a week ago and we've heard nothing about how the visit went.  Do you know how many Indiana fans have expressed concern in our forums?  There's not a single "sky is falling" post about potentially losing the only major OL transfer Indiana is targeting... and it's not because we are confident he will commit to Indiana.  We aren't worried because we are confident in the development of linemen who haven't even sniffed the field yet, and we trust the staff to go out and get someone if there actually is a gap on the line.

Shifting gears a bit, we were relatively excited about the visit from former Texas RB C.J. Baxter.  He would have been part of a 4 RB committee if we signed him.  It sounds like he was ours if Cignetti wanted him... Cignetti passed.  For a little context, You have to understand Baxter would have been the first 5* in Indiana history.  The backlash from the Indiana fan base for not adding Baxter... none.  We trust our staff to identify if he would have been the right fit.

One slight* difference -- you guys are playing for a national championship on Monday, and your success over the last two seasons is unmatched in your program's history.  We know that if we don't win a national championship next year, we'll have wasted the college career of Arch Manning.  There's a lot more angst and urgency to be expected from our fanbase vis a vis yours, which is one reason for "sky is falling" around every recruit.  We're also the hunted no matter how good or bad we are.  Like it or not, we're Texas, and we have a massive target on our back.  Right now, we feel the increased pressure of competing with Texas Tech and Cody Campbell, A&M made the playoffs, OU made the playoffs, etc.  I'm not saying Indiana won't be the hunted next season, but if you went 0-12, no one burns down your campus.  You're living a dream right now.

We are also reluctant to entertain Texas losing any recruit for any rational reason.  My guess is this board has significantly more participants than yours...and not all are informed, rational, sober, etc.  The more participants you have in an online forum, the more extreme the takes will be.  I can't imagine Alabama's board being more reserved than ours.

But to answer your question, no, we haven't recruited, retained or developed OL very well under Coach Flood.  We lost 4 guys to NFL in 2024, and all of sudden we saw the cupboard was bare.  We didn't address it in the portal last year, even though there were plenty of signs to tell us we needed to, and as such, we lost an early October game in Florida that kept us out of the playoffs - mainly because we had a revolving door of pitiful play on the iOL that afternoon.  Indiana and Miami look incredible right now, but Texas was a very talented team starting to peak, and I think we could have made things interesting.  Alas, we left LG to chance.

Who cares?

Me?
If he wants clicks he can go to Oregon, we can manage without him at Texas.
We wanna win a NC next year.

Can I not have an opinion on how a player conducts themselves on social media?
He's clearly teasing all the schools cause he wants attention, meanwhile we want a tackle to win a national championship.
How he's gonna act in the locker room and how he's gonna act around other players matter, especially with how much money he's gonna ask for.

@Gerry Hamilton said the biggest challenge for any coach in this new era is gonna be managing the locker room with all this money going around.
This stuff matters.

I feel like they should get the louisville kid and the Maryland kid.Surely with that Seaton money you could get both those guys.

Pretty sensitive if you think I'm trolling.  I was merely reinforcing the perspective of one of your level-headed posters, and had a few questions about staff and development.  I trolled the living sh.. crap out of Alabama fans the week before the game.  Trust me... I can be a complete asshole, you'll know when I'm trolling.

Say sh*t come on man we’re all grown here 😂

I trust Sark to make the right decision whe he meets him.
It's not just about how he may act in the locker room, it's about the fact that he's about to make 3 or 4 million and would be top 5 highest paid on the roster. It can split a locker room.

You can have as many wrong opinions as you like.

Was he a distraction at Colorado? Have you told the coaches that we shouldn't recruit an NFL first round tackle because he sent some innocuous tweets?

Touch grass... we don't need a diva at tackle.
I'll trust Sark and Flood to evaluate how he really is and if he's just chasing a few clicks during his recruitment or if he's a serial attention seeker.
