You see teams like Georgia and South Carolina play an annual out of conference rivalry game every year. If you could choose one team for texas to play every year in non-con as a rival, who would it be?

They play their in-state rivals: GA vs. GA tech and SCA vs Clemson.  Our main rivals are OU and aggy.   They are in-conference and we play them every year.  Not sure I need more than that--but having grown in Texarkana, I'm happy that we have Arkansas again as well.

Sorry to not answer your question about a non-con opponent.

Tech is the correct answer. They are getting entirely too cocky these days. Would be fun to kick their teeth in and remind them what happens when tortilla-throwing cockroaches go up against a big boy football program.

would love to show them “boys” in Lubbock a BTA every yr

I was going to say the same thing.

I know it is not popular, and it would pretty difficult to get full support for that game. But given their standing in the Big 12 and CFP landscape, it would be fun to reignite that head to head.

For me, it's Tech, they seem to have forgotten the BTA we gave them right before the 2023 Big 12 Conference Championship Game. That said, I doubt Tech would play us, that cake walk of their's called the Big 12 is something they're not going to risk. They're like the big spender at the bar that talks big but would never "walk outside" to handle any business. Hook'em.

“Why does Rice play Texas?”

Reminds me of a good trivia question - what college football team did Alabama play 3 times, but never beat?

We used to be included in that short list, until the 2010 BCS.

Texas Tech

the company I work for has a HQ in Lubbock so naturally we hav Tech alum everywhere so it would be awesome to smack them around and shut up all the bragging from them about being top 10 just for surviving their intense schedule 🤣

To hell with the Prairie Aggies.

Good question!! Tech would be a choice but why give them the satisfaction?! Now that we have OU TAMU and Arkansas I’m happy. Outside of tech the only other team that would be interesting to renew a heated exchange might be Nebraska or Colorado.
