TrouperG Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago How many times have you seen an SEC team mow down all comers in a season and then get bounced in a Regional. This team, like all teams, needs to grow throughout the season, that's a lot easier to do when your flaws get exposed and you have to face adversity so hopefully this is the good adversity that leads to growth. I liked watching them win 16 in a row, but even I started hoping for a loss. And JMarquette, there was supposedly this great bat on the team last year named Will Gasparino, who slumped and spiraled, so much so that he transferred to UCLA where he is knocking the cover off the ball. Weird s*** happens in a baseball season. 1 1 Quote

TCope111 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago We have beat ourselves tonight. Had plenty of chances to win and our pitching let us down. Lots of baseball left, I hope our relief pitching improves. This team has fight but we shouldn’t be fighting ourselves. 2 1 Quote
JMarquette Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago (edited) I can confidently that pitching is not this team’s strength. Edited 12 hours ago by JMarquette 1 1 Quote
Brho Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Embarrassing bullpen tonight , truly pathetic stuff. Would rather give up 5 solo shots in a row than to hit and walk guys like that. 1 Quote
smokeyiii Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Absolute bullpen disaster but happens sometimes. At least Schloss gets to shave the d broom 1 Quote
alrightalrightalright Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago That loss sucks. Up 7-3 going into the top of the 9th 1 1 2 Quote
JMarquette Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Everyone gets dropping games in SEC play, but you CANNOT drop games like that. Quote
TCope111 Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago I still have confidence in our team. We have to figure out who can come in and throw strikes down the stretch. I think Lefew needs to be moved to closer and let someone else be the middle relief. He’s the only one who comes in and shuts it down. Quote
SETXAN Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago First bit of adversity tonight and they lost. Top 3 arms out of the pen choked. Schloss better channel some Augie vibes in that locker room. 1 Quote
Here for the Wins Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Volantis as a 5 inning guy is not worth the trade off from closer. 1 Quote

.45s Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Pitching did not hold up, but we also struck out 18 times. Quote

Jim Posted 44 minutes ago Posted 44 minutes ago This Team was not going 53-0. Yeah it sucks to lose especially with a lead in the ninth. They were bound to drop a game like this eventually. The offense had way too many K's , and the pitching couldn't hold a lead in the ninth. The guys could've packed it in after they blew the lead in the ninth, but they scraped out a run to send it to extras. Burns came in and shut them down in the eighth but right now he struggles going more then one inning. Ruger not getting out of the fifth changed how Shloss had to use the bullpen. I think the run rule games kinda hurt the bullpen not getting guys innings to figure out who can do what and who can't. Grubbs is most concerning to me last year he'd give you three or four innings to get the game to Volantis. I'm not sure we have another guy who can do that too not only save arms but not having to rely on stretching guys out too long and having to use guys out of their normal role. The guy going for Ole Miss is pretty dam good so Texas needs to bring their A game.
