He can play tackle or guard. Played in 11 games at SMU last season. Originally signed with Arkansas in the 2023 cycle.

They aren’t signing a dude who played on the FG team at SMU to come compete to be the first or second dude off the bench at Texas. 

He is another warm body who will allow the second and third teams to scrimmage in the fall and get some work on scout team. Kind of like Velton Gardner a few years ago.

Yes because if there is one position I’m not concerned about because a coach has done so well evaluating and developing, it’s IOL.

This is right.  He's a third team guy.  One of the freshmen got hurt and they need a body

Honestly, this move probably says more about the severity of Kaden Scherer's injury than anything.

Given this signing and news about Sikorski and Christian getting 1st team snaps at G, is there any news on how Chatman is looking this spring?  I really liked him as a recruit and he has looked solid in limited snaps but has had bad injury luck.  I hope he is healthy and having a good spring.

I don't think Texas is going to be done adding these late flyers out of the portal very similar to Patterson.

The 105 allows them to basically buy up penny stocks at this point in the calendar and see if one grows into something of value.
