I agree with CJ, who's commented that he doesn't think Sorsby will be eligible to play any more college football. If Sorsby 's attorney works more courtroom magic as he's done in the past... what judge would seek to force the NCAA to restore the QB's eligibility? I don't know the statutes controlling this, but I can't envision a court forcing a governing sports body to accept legal gambling to this degree. I'm not a Tech fan whatsoever, but for the sake of the young man, I hope he gets this under control because at his age, facing his future with this problem would be very difficult. tsip92 Posted yesterday at 08:38 PM Posted yesterday at 08:38 PM The NCAA just needs to take the L and move on. 😂 On a serious note…. Seems like he has a substantial problem. If I’m the NCAA, I wait for the legal process to take its course, which of course is not what Sorsby and his legal counsel want. Assuming that pushes close to the supplemental draft deadline Sorsby will have to make a tough decision as to whether to fight with the NCAA with potential state legal action coming or see if an NFL team will pick him up. I’m guessing the NCAA dodgers making a ruling unless they absolutely have to. 1 Quote

JurassicSark Posted yesterday at 09:05 PM Posted yesterday at 09:05 PM Poor kid. Ruined his future regardless of the outcome of this lawsuit. Gambling ads are rampant nowadays and young men are the sacrificial lambs. Sure, he is at fault as well, but these platforms are explicitly designed to be as addictive as possible and to hook you in. This is the ugly side of ad-reads for Prizepicks and such platforms. 1 1 Quote

Supposedly they will file for an injunction in Lubbock District Court, so odds are they might get a favorable judge. This is what Chambliss did in Mississippi USA Today article - NCAA may decide Brendan Sorsby’s season — or a Lubbock judge might 1 Quote
Hookem72 Posted yesterday at 10:19 PM Posted yesterday at 10:19 PM This is a little bit different than Chambliss which was a question of eligiblity. This would set a standard that it is ok to bet on your team if they get an injunction. That cannot be a good outcome. 3 Quote

Hell even Pete Rose knew you don’t bet on your team…as a player at least. Quote
Bobby Burton Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago If he gambled on his team, and somehow gets a judge to allow him to play, then Tech needs to be kicked out of the NCAA for allowing him to play. It really is that preposterous. 7 Quote

The Tech QB definitely needs to be kicked off the team and Tech needs to be punished severely. Edited 22 hours ago by justwinbaby 1 Quote
