UTSA and Kansas State were better teams than Tarleton State and UCSB, IMO. Probably but KSU couldn’t pitch. Flora is the X factor. They shouldn’t throw him until they play us. Maybe the best pitcher in America. That could throw us in the losers side. 2 Quote
SuperDave0805 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Won't claim that I have watched a minute of Kansas or West Virginia baseball but I would take Arkansas over either of them 1 Quote

West Virginia might be the most underrated program in the country. They’ve been solid for several years. Quote

Alex Butler Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago That Lawrence regional is intriguing. I think the Hawgz are gonna take that one! I think we match up well with anyone coming out of Eugene Quote

One or two top flight starters can be very impactful in this regional format. They are less of a threat in a Super Regional format because it’s only 1 game. I saw this directly in a high school run to a state championship. One dominant starter can’t get it done in a best 2 of 3. Quote

Texas could not hit an 80 mph curve ball for shizzle. Everyone in the stands was shouting "Wait!, wait!, wait!" to no avail. Arizona beat PU to go to the CWS and won it all that year. I remember seeing Swindell under the 3rd base beachers when Texas lost its 2nd game to Pepperdine. He really wanted to pitch that day but needed at least one more day of rest. 1 Quote
.45s Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Dallas Baptist has drifted off the map a bit this year and only had 32 wins (32-26; .552). I checked their roster and another of Andy Pettitte's sons is playing for them. Quote

It was the preference of Schloss to get to see back after game one and eval who they will see in game two. 1 Quote
Burnt Orange Horn Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Makes sense, I guess. I think Gus always had Texas in the cooler night game because the next game for the winners was the Saturday night game then Sunday night if you won a again. I should have added to my Pepperdine post that there was no Super Regionals in those days but there were a few 6 team regionals in the later yesrs. Quote

Flora has best ERA in college baseball. Edited 43 minutes ago by horns96 1 Quote

The goal is to advance to the Super though. If they lose game 1, they should be able to beat Holy Cross in game 2 with their 3rd guy. And still have Flora. We are their biggest threat. Flora is their best threat to beat us. If they win versus Tarleton with their #2, they are far better off in game 2. From a depth perspective, you are better off losing game 1 than game 2 assuming you choose a lower end guy against the 4 seed. It’s similar for us in game 1 if we are not confident in Ruger. Throw a lower end guy so you have better quality against better teams. Thats how I’d play it. 1 Quote
