Assume Guttierez will get the ball with Kavan well over 100 today. Close if needed.

Yes. Has earned it with her play. All pressure on Tech.

As someone who doesn’t watch a ton of softball for 51 weeks a year, can someone explain if the Tech coach yo-yo strategy with his arms is common? Feel like every game I’ve watched them play he’s had an extremely quick hook and cycled his 2 best arms. Seems kind of demoralizing for his girls. Also feel like his “surrender” move bringing in the third arm tonight could have easily backfired if we completed the run rule early — would Kavan have been able to go tomorrow if we ended the game in 4.5 innings?

Someone should tell the announcers. They talk about us like an after thought.

Yeah, but what else is new? Listen to any broadcast of Texas playing in any sport, and it's no different.

My theory has always been we proved the national media wrong when we best USC, and they've never let it down.

It's not common because in order for a team to be able to do it, both pitchers have to play a regular position so that they don't leave the field.

The way it's advantageous is that they are different pitchers, so it's intended to throw off the batters because one's a lefty and one's a righty at different heights.  I think that it would disrupt any rhythm a pitcher has but what do I know, I'm sitting at home and not paid millions to do it.  Also, the other logic for the strategy is that it doesn't wear their pitcher down because they aren't throwing 100 pitches and every time they switch pitchers, the pitcher gets to warm up toss which in theory would disrupt momentum.

Texas needs to stay loose. After hitting both Terry and Canady tonight, they should be confident! ALL THE PRESSURE falls on Canady tomorrow night like Game 3 last year. As I recall we put up 10 runs on them that night!
Let’s go Back to Back ladies!!!

Katie has turned into a monster this year.  Hope she continues tomorrow.  And I hope she keeps developing and getting even better next year.  That homerun she had was another blast.

Kavan pitched really well again, even though she gave up the 2 homeruns.

Some keep saying that Atwood is having an off year but she is only a couple of homeruns behind last year.  Her average is off though.

Texas hasn’t won 1st game of the Super Regionals. Texas does win the 1st game in all other situations. Get the facts correct.

I was trying to make that sound like a joke...but i guess that failed 😄

Stewart and the bats were hot today. It bodes well that our players got 1 1/3 inning look at Canady today. Gotta hope both of their pitchers don't have their stuff again tomorrow.

Kavan could end up being our GOAT if we win this year and 3 peats next year. It's going to be interesting to see if we start her tomorrow or save her for a decider like last year.

I hope the fact that their coach waived the white flag in the 3rd inning rubs off on them. They have to feel like he didn't believe in them. Bad body language from them and a couple early runs from us might be all it takes.

Got the multi-stream going for tonight.

Hank, I missed most of the game due to work; I know that we won with a big early inning, but did Canady start for tech?

I feel your pain. They don’t bother my wife or daughter, but they absolutely feast on me—I feel like I’m going to bleed out. I’ve started spraying every couple of weeks just to keep them somewhat under control.

Try some B6.  Apparently they don't like the smell when you sweat it out.
