They are also defending themselves by saying that are not part of the lawsuit, but they were the ones who filed the original paperwork to get him reinstated.  Also, as pointed out Sorsby has repented and admitted his faults, but only after he was caught.  I also wonder about legal action such as him betting in Texas, betting under age, and also it seems there may have been some interstate issues.

This AD statement has to be one of the most despicable, self serving, self excusing, disingenuous, obtuse piles of tripe filled hypocrisy I have read in quite sometime.  

I beg to differ, both the system and situation are binary.  Black or white, right or wrong it is an immutable well defined red line which has, in this case, knowingly and intentionally subverted and crossed over 9,000 times by a single individual.  

Mind you, this is an individual that went so far as to distribute funds to others to enjoin them in concealment of his nefarious dealings.  Clearly conspiratorial throughout.  And, we, the public and rest of the sporting world are to turn a blind eye to this insecure, narcissistic booster orchestrated assault of all of sport globally under said booster's faux nihilistic claims of saving college sports.

I find it funny that they will only help him with his addiction by allowing him to be around the one thing that has fueled his addiction - football. Sounds like they will only help him, as long as he plays for them.

Apart from that, he's broken numerous laws with his gambling and it's just straight not allowed in college sports or any sport, at any level. People have been punished for less than what Sorsby has done. 

On top of that, for Campbell to compare the situation to Penn State is hilarious. Penn State got severely punished for those events. Tech got the equivalent of a slap on the wrist.

Scenario: Sorsby plays, Tech wins all its games against that powder puff schedule, and they get in the playoffs. In the process, Sorsby gambles away a couple hundred thousand dollars. And has a chance to win it back by throwing a playoff game ( maybe the final). He throws 2 pick six’s in the 4th quarter of the game and they lose by 3. What do all the Texh fans think then?
