Don't know if I agree, but I really do not like the conference championship game.

Another way we get there could be another round of expansion by the SEC & Big 10, essentially cherry picking Notre Dame and a couple of the ACC schools. 
 

im not a proponent of this, but I think that’s the direction we are heading. 

Conferences were around long before CCGs, so I doubt it. Unless CFB gets some sort of antitrust exemption or there is a collective bargaining agreement, conferences are the only governing body the courts respect.

Good point. The SEC is demonstrating the authority a conference can exert with the LSU fiasco.

First 2 rounds are home games 1st round starts the 2nd weekend of December 2nd round the 3rd weekend. Quarter and semi finals bowel games. Finals 2nd Monday in January

24 teams. Let's roll. Top 8 get bye. First two rounds on campus. Now those with byes play at home in round 2. Quarters and Semis are in 1 of 6 bowls: Rose, Fiesta,  Cotton, Sugar, Peach and Orange. Natty rotates around like it already does.

I’m in favor of a 16 team playoff as well.  If you have 8-4 teams making the playoffs, the value of the regular season will decline significantly.   The intrigue of the regular season is one of the things that makes college football great.  Smh.

I'm for 16 teams in a CFP with home games for 2 playoff weeks for the higher seeds, then two Semifinals at the bowl games and a CFP NC at a bowl game. Could keep CCGs, not a big deal but I would prefer to hold on to this tradition. I want to win the SECCG once before it goes away. That Clemson at Texas CFP game in DKR was awesome! Would love to get 1 or 2 DKR playoff games for the CFP.  Best chance of getting 2 home CFP games is a 16 team CFP.  Would rather not have a portion of teams getting a bye week, would not need to happen in a 16 team CFP. The mismatches in round one would be more deserved by having the better resume before the CFP. 

The first round of a 24 teams CFP (9-24 playing) would have more questionable and likely undeserving teams in the mix. You have 8 teams with a bye in week 1. 2nd week will likely have some mismatches, often by chance due to large field and inconsistent seeding. You very likely lose all CCGs.
