I think it’s protecting the ball .  He’s not playing loose because he is scared to turn the ball over .  He is best when he is a gunslinger, and except for a couple of isolated throws, he’s too scared to do that right now.  Whether it be coaches, family, or his own headspace, he is a little scared to sling it .  It’s been reinforced by him giving 2  games away with 2 turnovers.  Last year he protected the ball pretty well, and wasn’t so shell shocked.

QBs can take some brutal shots. It's not a stretch to suspect that there could be subconscious behaviors to avoid taking hits like that. For me, it would most likely be entirely conscious. I still vividly remember a hit I took almost 60 years ago in seventh grade.

While I agree with you on some hits staying with you, I think Q was never physically the same after that hit.  He never had the arm strength / velocity that he had prior to that hit and the injury caused by it.

Fear of taking more big hits is even more real if you've been seriously injured.

Man that was rough. Makes me feel alittle less angry at sark, but only if he does the right thing this weekend and make a change. Love manning but he is struggling bad right now. We have to salvage this season and give it to KJ

I understand this and do agree with it to some extent. But Ewers struggled in the same offense. He had some great games and then would have some really bad ones. So can we really say it's 100% just on Arch? I mean I can see what the video is saying and hell even what the all 22 is showing with guys open and all that.

But I still hesitate to just say it's all Arch. Because if it's 100% on him, then what have they been teaching him and what has he been doing in practice?

Ewers just wasn't talented. Like at all. Subpar athleticism and a legitimately weak arm. He hit his ceiling early. Arch is legit very talented but doesn't have the brain it seems .

It should. Too much has been made about the play calling. Is he perfect? Of course not. But poor QB play makes for bad offense

Ewers struggled to stay healthy for the most part. He was always playing with something. Ewers usually started hot and could light teams up. His other main struggle was the deep ball which is a big part of Sarks offense. He was money in the short game and could move the chains.

Sure but there was a lot of games t hat the offense would disappear and struggle. Even when he was healthy.

I had to turn this off b/c it was literally making me ill.

Arch has some college fb version of PTSD.

My take on how we should proceed - internal meeting with Arch explaining this (of course he wants to play, if he was concussed we would proceed the same way) followed by him sitting out the game - or at least first half - and building the confidence of the rest of the team.

That is not the Arch we saw the second half of last season so we know he can play much better. Something has caused him to become apprehensive and play tight. Fear of throwing an interception? Not trusting his receivers to continue on the proper route? Expecting to get blasted by a 350 pound DT because he doesn't trust his OL? The overall pressure of everyone's expectations? Or all of that combined? I presume the team has a sports psychologist who can help him work through whatever it is.

This is where I come out. Expected an improved player, not a regressed one.

Seems a lot of the plays someone is open. Arch is just not seeing them. Not sure how a different playcaller improves that.   It doesn't

Call stuff where he doesn’t have to see the whole field.  The Florida QB generally had one read.  Most of their plays involved misdirection and/or a quick pass.  He didn’t really have to stand back there and pat the ball.
