Texas is an underdog in Baton Rouge | Sunday, 8:40 am

LSU faces a must-win. Period. Meanwhile, Texas seems to think they’re in the Playoffs at 9-3, so it’s not a must-win (judging by the post-game reactions of Sark and the players).

Texas is coming off a big road win at Mizzou, while LSU took a beat down at home against a rival (Bama).

Texas has to travel to a ranked opponent in consecutive weeks.

It’s a night game in one of the most difficult places for opposing teams to play.

And maybe Vegas has actually watched the wildly inconstant Texas offense and special teams this season?

Intangibles definitely favor LSU here. I would’ve guessed a 2.5 or 3.5 betting line, in favor of LSU.

When was the last time Texas won as an underdog, especially on the road? Bama in 2023? Aggy 2024?

I found the answer. The last time Texas defeated an opponent who was favored over them was Alabama in 2003, and that game was also on the road. We were favored over Aggy in both 2024 and 2025.

Texas fans: "Nobody respects us!"

Also Texas fans for the last two months: "Fire everybody, bench everybody, burn the playbook."

Vegas is probably just reading the game threads. 😂

If that's true, it says less about Texas struggling as an underdog and more about Vegas refusing to make Texas an underdog. 😂

Hard to pile up underdog wins when you're laying points almost every Saturday.

Other side of this is a lot of our guys probably have this one circled . Including Sark, going against Lane, Collin Simmons for sure (if he’s healthy), Arch who is from Louisiana . Think we might have some players and coaching up for this game . And when money is concerned, Vegas has for sure taken note of offense and special teams, but the back stories of the players and coaches, maybe not as much .

LSU like Texas this last week is in a must win situation. Nothing more dangerous than a cornered animal. Texas defense keeps Texas in every game but the offense needs to continue to improve. IMHO Mizzou was a better ball club, more physical on both sides of the ball however Kiffin seems to find ways to hang points on opponents. With that said Texas seems to play down to opponents some weeks. Hope we get after them with the physicality of the last game. There are also 8 players who chose LSU over Texas one of which Caden Durham was a team mate of Simmons at D'Ville. Simmons may want to remind him that Texas is 2 or 3 top programs in the SEC. Texas also has a bit of unfinished business after missing the back half of the home and home series shortened by Covid. Texas 30-8 LSU 22-13.
