Rather have golden come back

I agree, but I kinda assumed that since he’s gone nuclear the last 6 weeks that it was likely a foregone conclusion that he’d be going pro. Plus, we still need a speed receiver. If Bond were smart, he’d come back for one more year.

Is he related to the edge we’re recruiting from New Jersey. Same last name and spelling I believe

Yes, that is his little brother.

Not to be rude here, but Bond is being smart by going to the NFL. He's getting 1st round grades still. Coming back only further increases his chance of getting an injury and not furthering his draft stock.

Dumb question, but is there any chance whatsoever that Bond returns? He could go kill it at the combine and reinvigorate his draft stock, but coming back another year could push him back to the 1st round. Or is he just dead set on going pro?

He needs to improve on route running and ball catching.  He could move up in the draft if he returned.

Travis Shaw is in Austin.

For a five star coming out of high school, he appears to have 2 star stats at UNC after three years.

I don’t think that’s entirely fair. His stats last year were very Bill Norton-ish. And he’s definitely more of a clog the gaps / occupy space / demand double teams kind of player. They often don’t put up monster numbers but are so critical in PK’s system.

Possibly not fair, but I don't think Norton was a very highly touted 5 star like Shaw was and after three seasons Shaw's numbers look like someone that plays part time.  I don't think that UNC's defensive line is so fantastic that Shaw doesn't play much for that reason.  If he can play a Norton type role here then that would be more than satisfactory.  If he comes and enrolls in the spring the coaching staff and strength training staff may be able to push him into that 5 star direction.
