Laus0223
Have to imagine this is all just speculation or schefter just saying NFL is interested (doesn’t mean sark is). Have to think Sark has an incredible thing going here and wouldn’t want to leave. But NFL is king. Anyone hear if this is all just media being media?
TooBrokeToPayAttention21
This is just my humble opinion bti but I think Sark has said that he is staying until they win a natty and our program is back on top of the college football world. Paraphrasing of course, other than that I don't think or see him having any real interest anytime soon. Maybe down the road but who knows. 😁🤘
qaertyisthatdude
I think Sark would want to win at least one natty before he tests the NFL waters again. Reminds me of Saban at LSU in a way. Given the rigorous schedule that college football HCs have, plus NIL, plus the portal, plus having to basically recruit your current roster 24/7 365.25 days a year, I can see why he would want to pursue an NFL HC job. These rumors have been floating around for the last few years for a reason. Could his agent be the one behind those rumors? I think he will eventually leave for the NFL, but not until he wins at least one natty. Regardless of whether he has a long successful tenure like Royal and Brown, I will enjoy him bringing Texas Longhorns football back to prominence.

coltonmartinez
That’s why Mack is moving back to Austin! Joking of course! Everytime I see him speak about College Football, Sark seems to love it. He mentions the pageantry and traditions are awesome. I don’t think this would be any time soon. I hope he wouldn’t leave because it would be detrimental to roster construction. But also who else wouldn’t want to be doing their job on the highest level? 1

Maybe speculation is the wrong word. But I think schefter has had a knack for putting info out that’s strictly one sided. Meaning an nfl team has said “we like what sark is doing at Texas” and he goes and reports that a team wants to bring sark in without actually assuring both sides have mutual interest. I’m not schefter as biggest fan tho. Think he’s absolutely fumbled some stories in the past

Call me crazy but I almost think his current situation at Texas is almost better than any opening the nfl will have this year. (Packers fan so I think the Chicago job is a nightmare with their gm and ownership). But nfl owners aren’t giving most new hire coaches more than 2-3 years before they fire them. I get the schedule is definitely easier, but to have total control of roster construction is definitely a plus for a college job.

Jbro52
As @Bobby Burton has said Sark is a bit of a control freak and in college football he has 100% control of the roster and won’t have that in the NFL, personally i believe his heart is in college football

I think he’d be upfront with that family if he were actually considering a move. I think he at minimum, finishes grooming Arch and gets him NFL ready before he weighs that option. But quite honestly, I’d leave in a heartbeat if I had the chance to go. Recruiting these kids in free agency every year, and having to manage a football program, and recruit kids from freshman to senior nearly every week of the year is tiring. When you can jump to the NFL, make more money if you prove it, and have this amazing thing called “contracts”. Where you don’t have to play this game every 12 months with an 85 man roster
Hank Kingsley
The best things Sark has done at Texas are completely wiped away with the strictly on the field HC duties of the NFL. I also think his willingness and ability to adapt to new CFB landscape gives him a decided edge over other HCs and programs. And he knows it.

But even for slightly more I could see it being more appealing because you don’t have to work 24/7 365 recruiting, re recruiting your roster, etc.
