I don’t think the Florida defense is close to as good as Ohio State’s, but we’ll see

I’m hoping the same … said it above but they have a brutal schedule before we roll into town…

How does Graceson Littleton not get a game ball? Dude was insane out there as a true freshman going against probably the best group of pass catchers in the nation. He seemed to quickly earn the respect of Ohio State. They seemed to stop picking on him.

Guilbeau seems like the weak link in the secondary at the moment.

There was no weak link in the secondary. Review the stats.

All of you people hating on Arch are showing your ignorance of how a QB can develop . For him to go out and ball out would have been an anomoly.  What we have is a leader with good character, and a hard worker that will get it fixed.  Look at Peyton, Vince, Colt, none of them started well.  And given time I could give you probably 5 more examples.  He played bad, fine, he has to play better, but quit hating.  It’s a small sample size and you are showing your ignorance of how this stuff works . You are game day posters. We are lucky to have a Manning. Stuck with the  program for 2 years and raised right. We can stick by him for at least more than one game. Sheesh.

For the life of me... I'll never understand why won't DB's whip their head around when trailing a WR. DB's always panic when they get beat and just try to catch up and hit the WR, never finding the football. Hell,  Gilbeaux possibly could've batted it down or intercepted it had he got his head around. I think we see Kobe Black or Kade Phillips take that job by season's end. Just a hunch... but I've never been confident in him out there.

Hat tip to the OLine, they did their part.

All off season I never heard much praise for Arch. An occasional compliment like “he had a good practice” or “he hasn’t been turning the ball over” but never gushing praise. I guess I can see why, he’s still a work in progress.

He can run. He has good zip on the ball. He has a few great throws. But man, so many bad throws, literally more than I saw from any other qB I watched today. Turfed shots, balls behind or too high. Just honestly ugly at times. I’m left wondering about how he’s doing in practice and if this has been a consistent issue for him or if this was first game jitters/Ohio speeding him up/confusion due to lack of tape on Patricia.

On the same note I’m left wondering if Sark didn’t feel comfortable developing a fun and aggressive opening script due to unfamiliarity with what Ohio was going to try to do.

I'm disappointed in the outcome but I can live with it. It was always going to be a tall task and encouraged that the team we saw today is not the team we're going to see week 7. I'll take my lumps and look forward to a great season going forward. I'm glad this game is over and I no longer have to hear the names Smith and Downs

Agreed. 11-1 or 10-2 still available. 0-0 in the SEC. Tough loss, a win was available, but if that’s the other best roster in the country, we’re in a great position. Have 3 games and a bye week to figure it all out before a 5 game SEC stretch.

Oversight on my part in leaving Littleton out. I meant to include him.

I thought Guilbeau did everything he could on the touchdown catch by Carnell Tate. Tate made a heck of a play.

To me it looked like he had great coverage on it and if he turned around could've made a play on it. Was a pretty poor pass, tbh. Tate made nothing into something with a spectacular catch.

Sark the play caller needs help. I like him as a program bolder a whole lot more. He needs his Johnny Nanson because it’s not working for us to win a championship. His offense is the let down now. The defense hasn’t let us down since probably the CFP in NO. Since then the defense has been very good. Nanson and now Akina have been inserted and give heavy input. PK’s side of the ball is stronger. My respect for him goes daily with the humility he shows. Sark  needs someone that will provide input but he has to be willing to receive it. Neal Brown would be a great start.

It is clear that Jeff, Bobby, CJ, Gerry have no clue.  Read their posts.  Listen to the You Tube channels.  I would think Rod should since he played the game.  Hopefully, Erwin and Shipley do.  However most press people are as brain dead as Sark.  None of won’t ask the right question at he press conference.  What question is that?

Sark, why not take the points?  Field goals are not bad, not against very good teams.  You left 6 points off the board in a game that was going to be low scoring and a probably a one score game.  Guess what?  You were chasing those points in the fourth quarter.  if you had those six points, you might have gone for two after Parker’s TD, though not necessary because of time.  However, you ended up having to get a touchdown at the end of the game whereas a field goal would have been easier to achieve against a salty defense.  They would have had to defend the field differently.

Your arrogance cost your kids the game.  Cost them a decent chance to win the game Instead of needing a miracle to go into overtime.
You need to make better decisions.  This is not the first time.  For example against OU, if you had taken a FG in 2023 instead of running Brooks or throwing a pass to a 160 pound WR behind the line of scrimmage, you could have tried to get a FG on that last drive instead of chasing a TD.  Guess what?  No one would be recalling that failed goal line attempt.

Play to win th game.  Tell your kids three points are good points, very good points.

You writers, blog guys, at the press conference will get stupid and ask the *** wrong questions about red zone problems because it appears you don’t understand the purpose of the game either instead of asking Sark why did you not take the points in a game on the road against the defending national champs.  You had an inexperienced QB, OL, even WRs, and instead of helping them, you put them in the hole.  Then after he answers, yada, yada because he is going to give some stupid answer to defend his dumb decisions.  Just one writer needs to ask?  So your bad decisions not to take the points cost your team the game?

I am not crying for a new coach or a new play caller but a coach who understands the basic game of football.

As a Buckeye fan (went to the game), I don’t want to play you guys in the playoffs. We lucked out with a few key penalties, was a home opener, and our back 7 played really well. Texas took away Smith and their lines played better on both O & D. Your QB will be fine. In fact, from my seat…it didn’t look like the Longhorn wideouts ran crisp routes-wasn’t a lot of daylight. Good luck and win the SEC…happy to play you again in 5 years or so.

Well you won't have to wait 5 years, we play next year in Austin lol.

1) I am a friend of my university, not just a fan. things can be up and down, doesn't matter.

2) As Darrel Royal once said, "Potential just means you ain't done it yet." That is where the 2025 team remains.

3) No one knew what what was going to happen yesterday, not even the coaches who have lived with the 2025 team. So not surprised of the outcome.

4) I am surprised about some of the missed throws from QB1. Uncharacteristic if compared to a limited data set from 2024. Almost like 2024 QB1 throws.

5) Now the coaches know the following: Defense overall was good to great at times. Both RBs were fantastic.  Work on everything else.

6) HookEm FOREVER.

One of the louder environments I’ve been in. They pump sound from the crowd and band through speakers around the stadium and it truly becomes ear shattering at times. They regularly kept the speakers on through our snap in the first half. I think Arch was shook by that. Doesn’t excuse poor execution or an uninspired game plan. Proud of the defense and running backs.

Agreed, they left the speakers on longer than allowed it seemed. Not using it as an excuse. Their PA team did a great job using the speakers to get their fans loud, especially on 3rd and 4th downs. I sat above our band and only think I heard them after the TD, and even then, couldn’t hear all of Texas Fight.
