Mark Orphey is the new DB coach. Not sure what’s being taught but the 10 yard cushions on 3rd and short + struggles defending crossing routes remind me a lot of the 2023 secondary.

Mark Orphey is the CB, Akina is S and Keynodo Hudson the Nickel coach

opinions are just that opinions. No one can be 100 percent certain about the article regarding Sark putting out feelers for NFL job . was Sark asked to comment before the article was published? was Jimmy Sexton asked to comment? . was it a one source leak to hurt Sark & Texas players & recruiting success. kinda feels like it . Everyone makes mistakes. It would be unfortunate but not malicious. Sark was upset about what he called the untrue article & that is was picked up by other news sources without checking with him or his agent. I guess time will tell if it was Clickbait or if it had merit . my opinion favors our coach of the Texas Longhorns. coach Sark . But it’s just my opinion. I’m not 100 percent certain. I’m an old man . to me if it walks like a duck & quacks like a duck. It’s a duck . I am 100 percent certain of that .

Bottomline, our secondary coaching is a HUGE problem. Now that we seem better in OL RB, it's our Secondary. I believe wr have top talent. It's Coaching and Strategy. PK/Sark should start bounding the table.

How does one bound a table big guy?

Not having Michael Taaffe has been a huge blow to our secondary, so hope to have him back against Georgia.

The entire secondary shouldn’t be reliant on one person.

So him coming back next week our coverage bust our magically just going to stop? Highly doubt it. Go back and watch the florida game.

Our two starting safeties, Taaffe and McDonald, were out this game. We haven't had coverage busts like we saw against Vandy in a very long time. I would like to see our best personnel on the field before making any kind of judgement.

Florida STILL happened with both of them healthy 🤷🏾‍♂️

We have been recruiting man to man corners and are getting destroyed playing zone.  Teams are finding the open grass and exploiting us.   Really wish we played more man like we did at Ohio State but we aren’t for some reason.  Is that PK or the position coaches fault?

Having said all that, how good would our secondary have looked without all the holds that got called allowing receivers to get open?

I recall several against Miss State, especially that shovel pass lol. Florida torched them, too. UTEP found gaps. It's been there all year, we just haven't seen it to the degree now.

Though I do agree that we had guys playing that haven't much experience that had to sub in. Not really sure what the issue is tbh. Some of the blown coverages against Vandy are inexcusable. 4th and 19 shouldn't have a wide open dude, 67 yard TD to their best receiver, etc.

I doubt it's PK's fault if that's the guys he wanted recruited for his D. Seems like Akina and PK not on the same page or maybe Akina has too much input? Something isn't meshing with them.
