  1. We consider Ryan Day as being right there with Sark as the best play callers in the sport. You can think whatever you want, but I am trying to educate you so you aren’t surprised on 8/30. Much like Texas, Ohio State doesn’t have “overrated” defensive lines. They are always elite recruits coached by an elite coaching staff.
  2. I’m much more concerned about Matt Patricia. If he struggles, there is no coach to take over.
  3. The defensive line isn’t overrated lol, if anything the national media is underestimating the defensive line. Also, if Hartline struggled then Ryan Day would just take over lol. Also, nowhere did I say that Julian Sayin would put up 31 points.
  4. Yeah, all I said was a score prediction. I didn’t mention at all how the teams would get there.
  5. With all do respect, it is baffling to me that you don’t think there is no chance for a win margin like that. People said the same before Tennessee, Oregon, and Texas last season. It’s college football, we have no clue. One thing we do know is that Arch struggled mightily when he took hits by high major lineman. Hell Ohio State knocked him out.
  6. Ohio State typically plays very strong OOC opponents, 1 every year. Texas, Georgia, and Alabama on the horizon. Oklahoma, Notre Dame, Miami, TCU, Virginia Tech, Texas, Washington, Washington State (when they were Top 10), in the recent past. It’s not about Ohio Stadium, it’s about a new QB and a new OL on the road.
  7. The OL is fantastic. It’s definitely a sign the DL is going to be very good, like the past 25 years
  8. Haha I was yesterday years old when I found out that was his nickname. I like it, hopefully he earns it on the field.
  9. Ditto for Ohio State. If Texas takes the lead at any point during this game, even if 3-0 on the first drive, the sky will be falling and Ryan Day all of a sudden sucks.
  10. You could have just asked us and we would have told you lol. By all accounts the DL has been dominant this camp. I don’t think any Ohio State fans are concerned about the defense. It should be one of the best defenses in the country once again.
  11. Urban Meyer isn’t the coach. How Ryan Day’s teams have fared is much more relevant. I do agree though, simply playing at home is not enough, it’s more so about having 4 new OL and a new QB and struggling to communicate. Ohio Stadium is incredible in terms of its history in tradition. In terms of atmosphere, Death Valley it is not.
  12. Yup, win or lose I’ll be back here to tell you guys good game. And you can laugh at me all you want if some of the things I believed were “elite” didn’t end up being very elite lol
  13. 100%. And among the best in the nation means different things to different people. To me that means Ohio State will have one of the ten best defensive lines in the country. With Ohio State’s history, recruiting, and coaching I don’t think that’s a stretch.
  14. Here’s my honest opinion just for clarity WRs: Elite TEs: Elite RBs: Very good IOL: Elite OTs: Very good QB: Good but inexperienced DL: Very good LBs: Elite, just behind Texas CBs: Elite Safeties: Very good K: Average, inconsistent P: Above average, nothing special
  15. That is why I wanted to come here and give my opinions. Same goes for Texas by the way. I learned that the Texas offensive line isn’t nearly as inexperienced as I thought they were. My prediction is 31-17 Ohio State. I’ve been wrong plenty FYI, and will probably be wrong here too lol
  16. To be fair, Texas can say elite for many of the same.
  17. Yeah, only Oregon in 2021.
  18. Brother, this isn’t our first rodeo
  19. I don't know who 1970 should belong to but it shouldn't be my Buckeyes lol. I believe that is the only one OSU claims that they didn't earn
  20. Man, Texas is stacked. Here are the Buckeyes who made the list - 1. Jeremiah Smith 3. Caleb Downs 62. Sonny Styles 67. Carnell Tate 75. Max Klare
  21. Hi Longhorn Nation, who will be UT’s starting 11 on offense and defense and their P/K on 8/30? What about injuries, are there any injuries you are watching or concerned about? For Ohio State, in 11 personnel LT: Austin Siereveld LG: Luke Montgomery C : Carson Hinzman RG: Tegra Tshabola RT: Phillip Daniels (Ethan Onianwa) QB: Julian Sayin RB: James Peoples TE: Max Klare WR1: Jeremiah Smith WR2: Carnell Tate Slot: Brandon Innis DE: Kenyatta Jackson Jr DT: Eddrick Houston DT: Kayden McDonald DE: Caden Curry (Beau Atkinson) LB: Sonny Styles LB: Arvell Reese CB1: Davison Igbinuson CB2: Jermaine Matthews Jr Nickel: Lorenzo Styles Jr FS: Caleb Downs SS: Jaylen McClain (Malik Hartford) P: Joe McGuire (Nick McLarty) K: Jayden Fielding Parentheses for competitions that haven’t been decided/announced yet. Injuries: None
  22. Ohio State isn’t concerned about their wide receivers. There shouldn’t be any drop off from last season, only difference is Brandon Innis is replacing Emeka Egbuka, but Innis should be every bit as good. Our concern is our OL and QB allowing the receivers to get the ball against Texas’ edge rushers and linebackers.
  23. Yeah, UT’s defense was frustrating. Styles make fights, and Texas’ D is the kryptonite for our WR’s. Ohio State wants to face man, like Tennessee, Oregon, and Notre Dame. Hopefully our IOL can winning the battles and allow James Peoples and CJ Donaldson Jr to control the game. As for Ohio State’s kicker, it’s Jayden Fielding. He’s a returning starter but inconsistent. Missed a couple easy FG’s against Michigan that cost Ohio State the game. Fielding was perfect in the playoffs though, so our hope is that he’ll bring that momentum into the season. If Fielding is lining up to kick a 45+ yard field goal, we have very little confidence it’s going through.
